My Kid is on ESPN
ESPN featured the Rock and Roll Marathon that was held in San Diego last month. The Marathon ended at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot so they took some footage of recruits. My son who is currently in boot camp was one of the recruits.

I get a letter once in a while, but that is it. It was good to see the little peckerwood is still alive.

That's pretty cool. You got to see him without the cost of a plane ticket. Not quite the same though, I am sure.

You must be one proud papa.
Like father, like son; Of course he's a marine.

But he's not a red-neck, is he?
I don't think that is allowed in San Diego.

"a fine young man in the making" ???

Yeah, as long as he stays away from his father, he'll make a great jarhead..

You refer to your son as "peckerwood?" Way to raise 'em up right, Bacpac.

I imagine with Leathernecks, the term peckerwood is one of endearment, newgirl. And compared to what the drill instructors probably call them, it sounds downright mushy,LOL

I thought you were going to say he was running in the marathon. I guess defending our country is good too.

He will be a fine young man as long as he stays away from the skeezers. LOL

Skeezers must be the sticky-jammied girl-babies trolling for dope smoking hotties.

I'm grinning here--no matter how old they get you're still the dad. Nice to hear he's doing well.

Mel--You're wicked but right on.
