Tilley Hats
In our search for sponsors we found Tilley and Im so happy we did. I have to tell you all about these hats not just because they have sponsored us but because they are great hats really. I know you have probably seen there add in the Backpacker mag. they are water resistant not totally waterproof but a great help in the rain(It has rained here everyday since I got mine) They have a string that allows the hat to stay on your head in wind (both directions) they also have this really cool secret compartment in the top of the hat to keep drivers licence, money or what have you. They are also UVA and UVB protectant. Im really honestly impressed with this great hiking hat. It has been marketed to sailors but what a great hiking hat. check them out at www.tilley.com they will send you a free catalog they also make clothes. but the hats are the great hiking gear. They also make one that is ultralite.

RE: Tilley Hats
I've had mine for about 3 years now and couldn't be happier with it. At first I was put off by the price but I think it's worth it. You can't get a better warranty than what Tilley offers.

RE: Tilley Hats
I've tried to wear hats like that before and It just don't look right. The only time I'll wear something on my head is Winter and that's usually a balaclava or something.

RE: Tilley Hats
Hats look dumb on me but they prevent headaches, scalp sunburn where my hair parts, and sunburn on my nose. One that is lightweight, looks good and is not sweaty would be great. They are really pricy though.

RE: Tilley Hats
Lyndys, they are even insured against lost. I dont think you will ever find a better warrenty on a product anywhere. they also fit very well just do the hat fit on htere web site and you have it right.

RE: Tilley Hats
Hey, it WAS a secret compartment, LOL! I've been wearing mine more this summer. It is heavier than my boonie hat, but is a bit more presentable in certain situations. I'll have to look for the ultralite model. And the warranty is certainly the best. As to the price, I used some birthday money a couple years ago. You know, spend it before you fritter it away.
