The Better Birthday

“This weekend my mom told me to take my cousin backpacking. Now first off just a year ago she did not trust me to go at all, and now she tells me to take my cousin. Hopefully solo will be ok with her soon...

Our backpacking trip was fun. Me the roomat and the cousin went to Nordhouse Dunes. i wanted my cousin to experience michigan, I figured sand woul do that.

We started hiking and about 5 miles in we came across thes drunk guys, one who had a severly burned hand from his fire the night before. He was so wasted that he did not even know it. he apeared to have it wrapped pretty well, but im still worried abouyt it. Cap counselor setting in i guess. well any way after talking to the for a while we headed on further. As we wer walking away my cousin asked Were they intoxicated? that made me laugh we stopped and camped for the night a little further on

My roomate had picked up a dehydrated meal for reall cheap so we used that. It was discusting.

We began to boil water for the next day. My roomate managed to spill boiling water on my hand. Owe. then my hand was sudenly wrapped up like the drunk guy. hmmmm. the next morning we headded back out. It was a short trip but fun.

My mom told me to come by our lake property on the way home to check on things. And when we got there the entire family was there to celbrate my birthday that they missed. I felt loved and it was wonderful. My four year niece asked me if it was the best ever and I said yes. And it was true”

“BTW - I went home Saturday to golf with pops and my brothers. When I arrived, my family and freinds were there throwing me a surprise 30th B-Day party. It was pretty cool, I've never had one before. I had to laugh though, here is some of the gifts I receieved:

5 bottles of Merlot
Wine Rack
Lots of Camping Gear
