“Who wants to talk coordinating carpooling from the North? Here is one coming from Sacto area, planning on going down Sunday and coming back as soon after returning to civilization (if one can call Crawley Lakes "civilization") as makes sense (if it is late I will stay overnight and head north in the morning).

I could probably drive, but would prefer to not be alone in a vehicle. Anyone wanna talk carpooling?”

I will be riding up to Mel's with Phil from the LA area, but I have a plane to catch in Sacramento on the night of August 10th. If you are going back that way around that time I'd be more than happy to pay for the gas. OM is also looking for a ride to Sac around the same time. I think she is also flying into Sac.

never in my life have i had an itinerary...but for this trip, to keep me from wandering about on the streets of sacramento and thereabouts before and after the llama rama.......so many arrangements and reservations etc...ahh...i jus wanna be there!

now, if i can just get on the plane....i DO NOT like to fly...at least not in an airplane...:)”

“Where will you be, on the weekends? I'll be at Bearpaw Mdw area end of July. Where will you be the following weekend?”

“Snow Nymph - We start gathering at Mel's house in Mammoth on Sunday, July 29. We will have a Dutch Oven feast for dinner.

July 30 we move to the Cottonwood Pass trailhead and hit the trail on July 31.

By the next weekend (Aug 4) we are at Crabtree Lakes and divide up into three groups:

7 day group: hikes over Whitney, August 5 to Trail Camp. To Whitney Portal on Aug. 6

10 day group #1 (with llamas) will begin their return to Cottonwood Pass Trailhead via PCT.

10 day group #2 (sans llamas) will return to Cottonwood Pass via Miter Basin and meet up with the other 10 day group.

I won't be in the Miter Basin group, but about 4-5 other TT folks will be. I will be in the Whitney 7-day group.

I will pick you up at the airport on Saturday morning. John Wayne Airport is only 20 minutes from my house. You can stay at my house until we leave for Mel's on Sunday morning. The only thing I have to do Saturday besides pack is pick up my son from Ontario Airport at around 10 p.m.

I told my wife you were an axe murderer. She thought you would fit right in. (just kidding!!!)”

I hope to be heading home (Davis - right by Sacramento) soon after coming out of the mountains. I also hope to ride down with Obi, but only if he is coming back on the 10th. I hope to hear from him soon. If he isn't coming back right after the trip I will be driving myself down and back and you can ride along and entertain me with stories of murdering axes. I tried emailing you and the email was returned....”

“Pepperdog, Solitary Hiker...

I'm heading up to Sacto on Sunday, picking up I-am-OM at her hotel, and then heading down to Mel's. On the way back, I'm detouring at Tuolumne Meadows to spend a couple days hiking there, and not heading back until (probably) Sunday the 12th.

I can fit one other person with gear, and we'lll all be comfy cozy... assuming one pack will empty into my trunk, and around the OTHER pack that's already in there!
