Random Thoughts
I just wanted to tell you guys that I am watching a really cute baby bunny outside the front door of my office. The other thing is that it is really humid (for eastern MT) and I am going to fall over dead. I feel like I'm suffocating. How do you southerns handle this?

RE: Random Thoughts
Le Subtil, that's not a bug, it's an "undocumented feature."

Unless you are like Radagast and really enjoy the heat, A/C is the way we handle it.

Eat shrooms.

The bunnies will be in technicolor, and you'll forget about the heat.

AC!!!
Except for work. I just gotta deal with that but when at home, I don't go out. I start cutting the grass about an hour before the sun goes down.
Bacpacking season starts in October around here for me. I'm hibernating from it now.

RE: Random Thoughts
I`ll look ahead to what might one day be
I only know to well what lays
behind me
just one step in front of the other, that`s how I`ll go
always searching, sometimes finding what I don`t know
I have had a rich life, but there`s things it lacks
still searching, trying to run out all of the tracks
life is just an adventure for us all, that no one can ever plan
but, I hope I go out like a light
and do it in my tracks if I can

I live in a greenhouse. no air conditioning , no heat. at least not yet. but so far its been ok. just a few days that I had to go sit outside. feels like being in the shade of a big tree. its really not that bad. What do you do to keep cool when you hike? you do hike?

Hi there MOM,.... I don`t know if you were talking to me or not, but,.... when it`s hot I try to hike close to water, around lakes, rivers and the like.

And no, I wouldn`t call what I do hiking at all, but at least it gets me out and away from the house some....

Take care of you and yours..... I`m glad you`re doing well and are happy......

RE: Random Thoughts
Would that I could change some things, but what the heck
I would jump down on time gone now and wring it`s neck
I had my chances, but I didn`t have a clue
that things can fly apart as they often do
well, I can`t stop time, it`s just goes ahead
and I can`t undo the things I did or said
I wish time didn`t get in the way, but it does lots
and I`m wasting more time writing random thoughts

RE: Random Thoughts
In my neighbourhood, the snows fly, in the alpine in early October and hang around until mid July. So now is the time to get up there without snowshoes and check out the flower show.

I just got back from five days in the Stein Valley. When we arived at the trailhead it was 101f 38c degrees. We spent the mornings hiking and the afternoons in the shade by the river.

I'm throwing together a trip report on my web site. The site itself, isn't ready, yet, but I'll post when the page and pics are ready.

ever eat in-shell sunflower seeds only to crack one open and find a tiny roasted salted seasoned worm? That is so nasty. They taste terrible.

Why is the dove the bird of peace? I think the pillow should be the bird of peace. It has a lot more feathers and it doesn't have that dangerous beak.-Jack Handy

because in order to get all those feathers ie.. downe feathers, you need to kill the bird.

with a dove, you do not need to kill it

Springfield, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, etc. "The name "Springfield" is a common one in America and appears in over half of the states."

"Springfield is the fictional city in which the animated American sitcom The Simpsons is set. Springfield is a large city in an unspecified state near a large body of water. ..."

I think they chose a generic name like "Springfield" to give all those cities plausible deniability ..... that it could be imagined as a portrait of some other "Springfield" that was filled to the brim with idiots.

Tilt - I suspect that the name came from a spring located in the vicinity. Springs were once an important source of drinking water. Then came pipes to distribute chemical laden water.

In baseball, Why do they call it a "Hit and Run" when the base-runner starts to run first, then the batter hits the ball? It should be a "Run and hit".
