“I'm headed up to Mt. Jeff or 3 Sisters this weekend. Won't decide until tomorrow evening. Don't know your definition of crazy but it will be a 25 mile overnight loop in either place.

Anyway, where abouts in Oregon are you? There are a few of us up here that get out a bit. If you're in the P'Land area maybe we could meet up for lunch sometime and discuss some hikes.

“So, let's plan something. I have a trip in mind, let's see if the dates work out.

3 Sisters Wilderness - An area that will be about 50/50 off and on trail and away from the typical crowds. Total mileage is variable depending on what route we decide and how we do it. Could be as long as 20 miles or as short as 10 miles round trip. I promise it will not disappoint. (Just ask anyone who has been on my one of my secret location hikes.)

August 11 - 13

If this doesn't work, throw out an alternate set of dates.

“Anything later isn't gonna work for me either. The business travel schedule is getting set to crank up and it looks like the end of August I'll be "on the road" for a week.

Of course if we don't get anymore interest then we have so far this one probably won't happen anyway. So far it's just you, bc_trailguy and myself. Sheesh, I'm begining to think none of the West Coast folks actually even go backpacking.

For those that are having trouble with time off, but do have weekends off, this trip can be done as an overnighter. Heck, I've done it as a day hike.”

“Good idea Charlie. I'm intrigued, but probably can't commit for awhile. I've been gone the past two weekends (just got back last night from a great hike in the Trinities), while Brenda has been home with the kids. Although she's nearly always a good sport about it, I still think it's probably not the best time to bring up another trip. LOL! I'll lay low for a bit and see how our schedule develops. Keep me in the loop though if this thing picks up some momentum. I'm curious where you're thinking about going. Thanks!”

Just got back from biz trip to central Cali or I'd have replied sooner. Wish I could play, but work has al of August tied up, except for breakaways for dayhikes. Hope you get enough takers to make something work.”

After my August holiday, my partner always takes the week before Labour Day off, so I may actually have to do a little work. But, since you're gonna be in the neighbourhood, I should be able to find a day, in there, somewhere.
