Remember, this will be a dayhiking trip...most likely 2 on Sat, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, with a lunch stop at the Winking Lizard in Peninsula, OH, maybe if everybody agrees. Hopefully y'all will allow me to take y'out on Sun morning before y'all leave the area.

Bring yer boots, a hip or daypack, waterbottle, grub or snackfood, camera, etc. PLAN FOR THE WEATHER...we're gonna do it rain, snow or shine.

I got lots of room at my house. Food I'll have to work on. We'll definitly have to stop at the local outfitters, Appalachian Outfitters.

My house is on the SE corner of Kling and Thornton.

“Buddur, got any ideas on the mileage we'll be doing? And, unfortuatly, my friend's flight is around noon on Sunday out of Detroit Metro, so we'll have to scoot out early Sunday morning. But I'm looking foward to that weekend!”

“I tried to create a group Email (btw - couldn't get Buddah Bear's, Smiley Girl's or Briar Rabbit's Email from here) and after sending, just as i clicked on Sign Out I read a screen that said syntax error, so the Email prolly didn't go out. And I'm NOT going to go around obtaining everyone's Eaddress again. So why don't you guys send an Email chain letter ending with me, then I'll/We'll have a group correspondence thing going if needed.

Thanks for offering to have folks stay at your plave Mr.Buddah Bear, but I'm wondering if it'd be prudent to split up the group, what with an hour drive between us.

“My understanding that this is going down on the 2nd weekend of March. There will be a series of dayhikes for Saturday and Sunday and evenings will be spent at the Budder State Camp Ground. Free of charge with a TT membership. Are we pinching in the backyard or couches? My truck doubles as my home on occassion.

This is all sounding rather interesting and fun. I will most like, if attending, bring a four legged companion too; if that will be a problem I maybe able to make arrangements for the dog here.

I don't know the open flame laws in your neck of the woods but it would be kinda neat to have one of the portable 'firepits' set up in the backyard. Especially if the night is right or are we 'bar hoppin'.

What are the evening plans? Grill out! Backstraps and burgers!, movies!, twister! , cards?

I should know alittle more in a week about making this trip.

The house I'm renting has a downstairs with a rollaway bed for 2, a floor with room enough for 2. The second floor has 3 bedrooms, one with a single bed, one with a couch and enough floor room for 2 more, and one with enought floor room for 3. The third floor also has enough room for 2. There are two driveways associated to the house, so parking won't be a problem.

The night will be spent???...watching rented movies, playing any boardgames that anyone wants to bring, of course prolly drinking beer, or even going to the local watering hole of which there are many, etc.

I don't have a firepit in the backyard, although no fires are allowed within the city limits, that never stopped anyone. If I had a ring of somekind, a fire would be easy to get away with, but it still may be too cold to be standing outside.

Dogs are definitly welcome.”

“With so many different places to take you guys, it's going to be hard deciding which places to hike. And btw most of the hikes will be in the woods and not on any established trail, so the muck will be kept at a minimum.”

“Due to the fact that there'll be about a dozen people and I don't have enough pillows for every head to rest on, I'd suggest you bring your own. And some will be sleeping on the floor, so I suggest maybe a sheet to throw down, a groundpad for comfort, and sleeping bag to keep you warm. Also, there's one shower and one toilet...just a warning.

And the weather forecast is looking more on the wet side, so I suggest bringing towels to wipe off mud and dry the dogs, and possible sheets to cover seats seats and towels on the floor for the other cars we'll be caravanning with to and from the CVNP.”

“Sassafras, you ask about my dog,, Jezebel. She's a 6yrs. old spayed 40lbs blue heeler. Definitely, avoid direct eye contact and keep your hands in your pockets at all times unless you are willing to be bothered for xoxox's.

Its a funky breed of dog! She normally does pretty well with other dogs after intial introduction. Her and Sarabelle spent a weekend together without a hitch.

I have no takers here, so if I'm able to attended I'll have to bring her.

“It doesn't matter after all Briar...we decided to leave our butt sniffers at home. They take off like dogs outta he!! if they're off leash and off trail isn't fun on a leash. My dog always manages to go the opposite direction as me around trees etc. Look forward to meeting Jez...i'll keep my hands in my pockets lol.”
