Kids Sleeping Bags Question
I would like to get advice on serious camping/ backpacking bags for kids. I've been through REI and Campmor and have ID'd a few like a short 25deg. mummy bag from Slumberjack for $39. Just curious if anyone had a source or particular bag they liked for this. My kids are starting to go everywhere I do and normal "kid" stuff from K-mart isn't going to cut the mustard. Thankfully they're not up for the January Smokies hike yet.
Thanks for your thoughts.

RE: Kids Sleeping Bags Question
"Coleman For Kids" makes a decent kid-sized mummy bag (also 25 degrees I think) that usually costs around 40 bucks, but can be had for as little as $25 on sale at Target, from time to time. We also have an REI "Volcano Jr" (I think that's the name) and a Peak 1 Kit. Both are nice, both around 60-70 bucks. The Peak 1 is a little more compressible & lighter. If price is no object, these bags look really nice:

I have 2 almost new Slumberjack short bags and 2 REI regular bags, all 20 degree, that I'd like to sell.

RE: Kids Sleeping Bags Question
How old are the kids? If they are over four feet tall, you might be better off with a women's short than a kid size.

RE: Kids Sleeping Bags Question
Click here to see the 2 adult short bags I mentioned.
Used less than 6 nights, clean and perfect shape. I paid $79 new.
I also have 2 packs; Camp Trails Youth Packs. One is blue, one is green. Campmor no longer has them in the catalog. Size is generally 7-12 yr old average boy, I guess. Used 2 or 3 times and in perfect shape. I paid $60 new.

I also have 2 Camp Trails Large Adjustable packs, one green, one blue, and 2 REI full size 20 deg synthetic bags, all used only once or twice.

Thanks for the info. Kids are 5 & 8, not up to real packs yet, my middle name is "mule". I found decent bags last night for $40 what cha want for the two shorties? I see Campmor has them for $59.
