“Ramsey's Draft is pretty cool. Water can be an issue once you get away from the area's namesake, especially in late summer. But, its not such a large region that you can't plan around that. Basically, the area consists of a ridgeline to the west, with Ramsey's draft in a valley to the east parallel to the ridgeline. This is somewhat of an oversimplification, as there are other areas also. There are plenty of trails and it's pretty easy to plan a loop, or a point-to-point trip. HIKING VIRGINIA'S NATIONAL FORESTS, by Karin Wuertz-Schaefer has good info on the area. If a trip is indeed brewing, let me know, I'd definetly be interested.”
