Remains of Backcountry Ranger Found
So much for LNT ethics. This guy obviously didn't practice what he taught. I imagine this is worse than leaving poopies uncovered.

Backcountry Ranger found in the SEKI area.

I was up in Kings Canyon the year this guy went MIA. Almost all available rangers were sent looking before the snows came. Made for a Ranger Free zone in the area I was in, whichs was nice.
Beats dying in a hospital hooked up to tubes and needles. Kind of wished they would have left some kind of marker at the site.

I remembered seeing flyers all over when he disappeared. Bummer!

Pantscandy, I don't think we got to hang around enough together on our Tomales Point hike, because you have a weird sense of humor, and I didn't get to find that out, lol.

RE: Remains of Backcountry Ranger Found
My hiking buddy found remains twice in three months. He found the first one in a sandy wash near Owens Lake (nekkid body in a sleeping bag, with clothes, boots, water next to him) and the second one in a cravasse in Nepal (boot w/crampon sticking out from above, body fully preserved and identified later as missing 5 years prior)

Ayyyy, Lipstick! Glad to hear from ya. I assume you made it home alright. When you guys coming back down? I have no sense of humor. That's why you didn't see it at Tomales. Life is nothing but death, tragedy, and unfamiliar voices in my head. Oooohhh, Space Ghost is on. Got to go!

Pantscandy, Space Ghost, never heard of it, but don't let me stop you from watching it. Did you get the picture of me & you? You are so lucky to get a picture with me, lol. We should have the photos posted tonight or tomorrow.

I have to say that your picture on Phil's photo page does not do you justice. Only 35 and single with big blue eyes, the women here should be fighting over you. Update that picture.

Yes, I got the pic. It came out nice. I may even submit it to Phil's page. Would you mind? Wouldn't that be sweet if the ladies fought over me! I can see it now :) Do you think I'm worthy of Cabana Boy status. Ha!There's a reason I'm single though. Being of conversative thinking I feel alienated in this vast wasteland of liberal mindset that the Bay Area is. I do play well with others though! Oh, and I'm NOT gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Sorry, I have to cover my ass here in the PC Bay Area. In more ways than one. :)

asphixiation???....face down, trash bag over his head, back exposed (the bugs had gone into the bod, lots of little holes), plenty of water next to the sleeping bag, clothes folded next to the bag, and boots. My friend camped in a wash, and was hiking around taking pictures when he found it.

I'd think twice before camping with someone who had 'found' more than one dead body.

RE: Remains of Backcountry Ranger Found
I got Pantscandy's photos. Definite proof of Cabana Boy status, complete with harem. I get them posted soon.

Statistically speaking, the probability of finding a dead body out in the woods follows a Poisson distribution with a very small lambda value. The probability of finding two dead bodies is very small, but greater than zero. It can happen by accident. (Pragmatically, I would still keep one eye open when hiking with that person. LOL).
