Easiest way to Arethusa Falls frm Kancamangus
Tell me, please! Trying to map it out but having a hell of a time.

Going to stay at Jigger Johnson campground on the Kancamangus highway. Want to go to Arethusa Falls early in the morning, but need to know the easitest/quickest way to get there from Jigger Johnson. I need to get to Rt. 302!

Any help appreciated!

There is really only one reasonable way. Just east of the campsite is Bear Notch Road. You take that north to 302. Then you head East (and North on 302). The trailhead parking lot is just inside Crawford Notch State Park.

If you have any questions just ask folks when you are at the camp site.

P.S. Dave with a five year old, you will probably want to visit Story Land (Bear Notch to 302, then West (right) on 302.. then just a little north on 16.

Bear Notch Road will be your best route to a lot of things.

RE: Easiest way to Arethusa Falls frm Kancamangus
I just saw this at a web site I was checking out:

"ARETHUSA FALLS....., The access road to the start of the 1.3 mile, fairly rocky and moderately steep trail, leads off Route 302 1/2 mile south of Dry River Campground. Return via the same route or complete the 3 mile loop past Frankenstein Cliff to the start point."

So, if you pass Dry River Campground you've gone too far.
