Glacier NP Transportation

“Anybody got any hot tips for hiker shuttles in Glacier National Park? Specificlly I'm looking for a reasonably priced way to drop off six hikers at Chief Mt. customs. Our hike ends at the Loop. I have already rented a van for the trip and two our group is driving out from Tacoma. I was hoping to find a way to avoid the long car shuttle back and forth. I have heard about a possible shuttle between Many Glacier and Waterton but I keep getting "I don't knows" from everyone I talk to when I ask if it exists and I they ever just drop people off at the customs station.
Anyone got any answers or suggestions?”

“The lodges used to run a shuttle and tours using antique red touring cars. We went from East Glacier to Waterton that way. I saw on the news that they are being refurbished, and it will probably be a couple of years before the shuttle service is reinstated. You might find someone in East Glacier who is willing to earn some extra cash by shuttling you, but there's nothing official any more.You might call the hotel/lodge though, since they may have created their own alternative until the shuttle buses are back in service.”

“Thanks, I've already called Glacier Park inc. and they handle all the lodges and the shuttles, but whoever answers the phones doesn't know much at all.”
