computer hit by lightning

“Hi everyone. temp. on here i will be half-pint-mom instead of just plan mom. my computer was hit by lightning yesterday. Yes ,I had the power surge thing it didnt help. actually, my son was hit too. hes ok. we had a really bad one here and so....from now on this is me.”

“Sorry to hear, MOM. Last year my oven's computer panel was fried by lightning. Who would have thought you needed a surge protector for your oven? Pretty much totalled the oven. Glad to hear you son is okay.”

“Get a real surge protector for $50 or so and it has a warranty that will insure your computer up to $20,000. I use Blackout Buster, got it at CompUSA.

The cheapie $15 "surge protector" strips don't work and are NOT real surge protectors.”

“steve hiker check that warrenty and see if you dont have to send the computer in to them to estimate the damage before you take it to your person to have it fixed. I was warned about that one. the one i heard about was so inconvienent to work it wasnt worth it. yuppie the picture looks a lot like my computer at the moment. Im temp on my son in laws computer so at least i can get on once in awhile. things are going very well for our hike and im heading out the door right now for a relay for life thing.
I talked to Naked today and hes on his way to California. wished him well, but im going to miss my hikin buddy.”
