Wierd Things
Everyone has that little oddity at the bottom of their pack that they have to take with them. I have a little green plastic M&M man that travels with me. What's in your pack?

RE: Wierd Things
What, you carry dead weight in your pack for the sake of superstition? Repent and read BEYOND BACKPACKING 5 times before you go to bed tonight -- and sin no more.

I don't carry extra weight, but I have petroglyphs drawn all over everything. The tent, the chair, the sleeping bag, platypus, cooking pot, spoon......I get carried away

That's why I like my tattoos -- good juju, but don't add any weight to the pack, or to me.

I do have a little brass bell from India on my keyring that I got in Key West in 1972, so if my keys are in my pack, that might count. I'd really miss it if I lost it.

I took a nurf football to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. It was pretty fun. They are light weight too.

I got called a freak by a lizard that has suction cups on his toes. Oh no.

For the record my teddy bear can fit in a film canister. It's mainly to remind me of my kids. Every once in a while I put him a picture to show the kids when I get back. They think it's funny. I guess I should rethink taking him, he is costing me over .5 an ounce.

bacpac, when are we going to see a pic on the pic page of you in your Palestinian head frock? Will it be with or without a throwing rock in your hand (you know, to skip across the River Jordan or the Dead Sea).

For sale or trade...one bald 5'10" sherpa. Able to carry heavy stuff for hours on end. He talks a bit much but can be tuned out with relative ease. Serious replies only. Email Joy at singlehikers@lonelyandtired.com.

While on the PNW hike CHAS set up in Oregon (Mt. Jefferson) I found proof that this planet has been visited by beings from outer space. It's a small (very tiny in fact, less than 1/2 inch tall) green bottle, labeled "ALIEN BABY BATH".

I am NOT making this up. I always carry it in my first aid kit, just in case.... just in case.
