I am a hot babe, I don't know about the loose morals...they're not airtight, but definetly not loose” 3:29:14 PM 8/06/01 RE: Trail Dogs “My next dog will be named "Bacpac"!” 3:50:19 PM 8/06/01 RE: Trail Dogs “...or "Rad"!” 10:56:46 AM 8/07/01 RE: Trail Dogs “be sure to kick it a few times a day!” 11:20:06 AM 8/07/01 RE: Trail Dogs “If you name your dog bacpac he will sh!t in camp and hump your leg. Of course what dog doesn't?” 1:54:58 PM 8/07/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Biz, sorry. I didn't mean to insult you. One of my many faults is always looking for "double entendres" and pointing them out. Didn't mean to be sophomorish or mean-spirited.” 1:19:02 PM 8/08/01 RE: Trail Dogs “"If you live among dogs, keep a stick. After all, this is what a hound has teeth for- to bite when he feels like it!" Or are you into Diamonds?” 10:17:29 AM 8/09/01 RE: Trail Dogs “"One of my many faults is always looking for "double entendres" and pointing them out." LOL! This from the guy who claimed he didn't catch the double entendre in his user name! Sorry Fly, couldn't resist (didn't mean to be sophomorish or mean-spirited). OK, I'll stop.” 1:03:55 PM 8/09/01 RE: Trail Dogs “We all tend to overlook our own shortcomings.” 1:46:53 PM 8/09/01 RE: Trail Dogs “I don't overlook my shortcomings. Everyone is constantly pointing them out to me.” 1:48:13 PM 8/09/01 RE: Trail Dogs “So is this thread still about gangsta trail dawgs packen heat on the west sideeeeee?” 5:03:23 PM 8/09/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Yer right Fly, I wanna forget about my premature.... errrr ooops... And if so, will you be in Utica over Labor Day weekend? (just thought I'd ask)” 8:31:01 PM 8/09/01 RE: Trail Dogs “What is Buddur talking about? Diamonds? He hates me cause I don't think dogs belong on the trail. Maybe if he would stop screwing the pooch and get out with some people he would understand. Probably not.” 11:04:29 PM 8/09/01 RE: Trail Dogs “So what if I screw my pooch! It's my life...and my pooch! And who hates you? As soon as you realize that dog owners have every right to bring their dog along while hiking, we'll get along! Now back to your diamonds.” 12:22:18 AM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “I do agree that dog owners have some rights to bring their dog along. Those rights don't extend to forcing everyone else to participate in the dog experience.” 8:05:55 AM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “We just got approved for a puppy today through MAESSR. More good times ahead. ”8:48:43 AM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “ankle biter!” 8:57:02 AM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “bullet catcher!” 4:21:47 PM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “I would rather hike with someone with dogs than kids!” 4:25:07 PM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Demented!” 4:32:51 PM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “his name is Wally and we will be picking him up tonight. he was born in a shelter but his mama was rescued. his mama is an english springer and they think the papa was a pointer. he is 8 weeks old (june 11th).” 4:46:22 PM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Baume you are doing the right thing getting a dog from the shelter. You're gonna have a great time with him!” 4:49:54 PM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Baume, good luck with your new puppy. Dogs can be a real asset. They can be a liability too. Take care.” 7:09:51 PM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Holly crap Baume! What a cutie!!!!! yOU'RE SO LUCKY” 9:56:14 PM 8/10/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Had a trail dog encounter Friday afternoon while hiking back in the Blackjack Springs Wilderness. With berry season continuing, and berry bear scat in a couple places on the trail, and hiking solo, I was being cautious. I was paused on the trail by one of the spring ponds when a trio of ducks launched, which was strange since I was still and quiet. Then I heard what sounded like a large deer cross the stream inlet, but couldn't see anything through the undergrowth. After a couple moments, I could hear something coming generally in my direction in the bushes and trees, then caught a glimpse of something on all fours, waist high and furry, crashing through the vegetation. Not wanting to wait any longer, I pulled out my whistle and gave it a blast. Out of the bushes charges a very large, reddish brown "golden" retriever, barking and snarling loudly. I couldn't see anyone with it and it advanced growling and barking, so I blew the whistle again, which made it pause, but not stop barking and snarling. Then it's owner came along the trail, a guy about 40 with binocs around his neck. "Gee, I never see anyone else back here," he said, never apologizing for his dog's behavior. Once the dog had a chance to sniff me, it was a real sweetie. But anyone who says their pet would never threaten anyone, should have seen this "sweet" dog. I was pretty close to having to defend myself with my hiking stick, which I was glad I had. Of course, it was supposed to be on a leash, but this guy didn't even have one with him.” 12:45:51 AM 8/11/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Happens all the time. If the beast had bitten you the owner would have been less apologetic.” 1:02:25 AM 8/11/01 RE: Trail Dogs “Yeah, so much for the peace and quiet of the backcountry. At least it wasn't a bear. Though the bruin would have run, most likely, rather than advance. Bears may be getting used to humans, but dogs are innured to us...they know they can get us to do most anything they want.” 1:09:49 AM 8/11/01 “here ya go, josh.” 12:19:32 PM 1/09/02 “hey Budder dude (and other hot doggers), This link was sent to me and I instantly thought of you. I didn't know if ya might of already seen it or not so submit it for your viewing pleasure (or redundantcey). http://www.uberpest.com/” 9:19:55 AM 3/07/02 Lemmings “We're all lemmings. Be unique, don't critique.” 10:06:07 AM 3/07/02 trial dogs “I have 3 large dogs, and i have been considering taking them on the trail.. I have been trainning them to be social and quiet.. It takes alot of work and i do agree that not all dogs belong on the trail. The oldest is Sheba she was adopted from the local shelter, She is lab and shephard she was severely abused by her owners, we have had her for 12 years now.. She is too agressive towards strangers so she stays home. My two year old: rescued from the local shelter: Baxter is the working dog of the family. He is a boxer and great dane mix.. very cute and large.. He is great on the trail. He works with us every day, he has been used to help recover people in auto accidents, or sniff someone out. The third and baby of the family is Tanook. he is a shilo shephard.. he will be 160 when fully grown. also a great dog for the trail and highly socilized. He is our working dog in trainning.. But i do agree that it is the owners responsibality to control the dogs or leave them at home. Its bad for the other hikers and bad for the dog. You must teach your dog to be social in any situation requardless if you are on the trail or not.” 11:10:36 AM 3/07/02 “How does PETA feel about dogs on the trail? How about dogs on snowmobiles in Yellowstone?” 11:20:24 AM 3/07/02 God, Gun, Dog, Politics... “I swear to God, if someone mess with my dog, I'll shoot him (the person)...well, that's about covers everything. Oh yeah, don't mess with Prez Bush also. Lol :0)” 3:15:49 PM 3/07/02 “Anyone have a tripod trail dog? the reason I ask is I know someone with a tripod pup that they are looking to find a home for, and I was thinking about it---She is a blue heeler border collie mix and both parents are working farm dogs--the pup lost a leg in a farm accident and is 16 months old now. ”4:15:49 PM 8/22/07 “someone i hiked with on the AT had a blue heeler. very smart dog” 8:14:18 PM 8/22/07 “saend it to china” 8:16:50 PM 8/22/07 Walls of Jericho “Has anybody been there lately, Is there plenty of water. Both parents are purebred with papers, the mother being a Rotwieler and the father a German Shepherd” 8:19:47 AM 1/10/08 “ 8:21:33 AM 1/10/08 “Do they got stinky butts tho? I will chek if you wont me to (o:3” 8:21:38 AM 1/10/08 “I think so Sarabelle” 8:22:25 AM 1/10/08 “anyone know anything about english coonhounds? Do they make good trail dogs?” 5:53:28 AM 3/22/08 “don't know SC, but I'll bet they can tree any 'trail cats' they come across..... My little Jack Russell was on the trail with me last week and he seems to do pretty good. He even went off trail to take a crap...” 5:57:00 AM 3/22/08 “i'm gonna start taking my mother-in-law's border collie/austrailian shepherd with me... she's got a ton of energy so it should be good for her (the dog, not the motherinlaw, lol)” 5:59:08 AM 3/22/08
