lyra, it's not comfortable to ride on the back of a sport bike, because you have to lean forward. I had to do it once on hubbie's bike. Maybe you will like it better. Definitely get a helmet. Actually, the back seat rider should be dressed as well as the rider of the bike.

When you ride on the back of a sport bike, you have to put your arms around the persons waist and lean your hands against the tank when he stops. Have fun, good luck tarpy, and as they say, keep the shiny side up.

actually, i did it once, with a helmet of minimal coverage. i should wear a better one though. and i wore Tarpy's motorcycle jacket...he made me. i felt like i was totally out there in the open, which i was--exhilarating and scary! i think we did everything we should've done, just about...

thanks, LH :)

I had a motorcycle in High School. I was no Evel Knievel, but I was daring. I inherited a bike two years ago and I hated it. My fear factor had increased exponentially.

Have fun kids!

This is a pic of the same bike I just bought, Suzuki SV650S, same color, different exhaust!

I love my crotch rocket and I couldn't imagine riding a cruiser. The are two totaly different worlds, but as long as your rolling that's all that matters.

Damn highway gnats, anyhwo!

How's come I never see the "cruiser" riders flying single-file going light-speed and zig-zagging through traffic, or trying to pull wheelies to show off.

I got caught up in "accident traffic" while driving home from work last month. When I finally came upon the accident scene, there was a mangled crotch rocket laying near a car with a badly dented rear end.

Sorry if I seem slightly biased against crotch rockets motorcycles...but most of the owners seem to be young and irresponsible compared to the "cruiser" type bikes!

RE: I AM GETTING A NEW MOTORCYCLE! SWEEEEEEEEET!
How about factoring in the increased number of drivers and the fact that newer bikes are Race Replica Motorcycles that weigh less than 400 pnds and have top speeds of 120 - 200 mph. Oh yeah, and about 25% of those in accidents don't even have a license or insurance!

RE: I AM GETTING A NEW MOTORCYCLE! SWEEEEEEEEET!
the problem with crotch-rocket riders is that they are dudes and dudettes who never rode a bike when they were younger.

they decide to take it up in their 20s or 30s and they suck at it.

what i'm trying to tell you is that by quoting, you are making your opinions weak.

it's like you need the justification of someone else saying something that you believe to validate your point of view.

Buddur, I have a cruiser, and I hate to say it, but the cruisers are busy drinking beer. Not that I drink when I ride. I never would. You need to have many more skills to ride a motorcycle than to drive a car. It always kills me to see bikes in front of bars.

Violin, lol, I think I've seen that one on a motorcycle site. That symbolizes a Harley rider to me. Most don't wear full helmets, and end up eating a lot of bugs.
