Love or MoneyView MessagesRE: Love or Money “"I've learned you can't make someone love you, but you can stalk them and hope they panic and give in" -Biz's ex-husband” 6:40:57 PM 8/10/01 RE: Love or Money “There is a fine line between love and hate. I would marry for money if it was enough money. I would marry for love if it was enough love.” 6:46:22 PM 8/10/01 RE: Love or Money “I married hyper for his good looks.” 7:02:12 PM 8/10/01 RE: Love or Money “You can marry into more money in 5 minutes then you'll make in a lifetime.” 7:08:38 PM 8/10/01 RE: Love or Money “Joy, how is he looking lately? Good enough for who he's for. I must admit there is a bit of love involved. A lot of friendship too, not too much $, just enough.” 10:24:29 PM 8/10/01 RE: Love or Money “I don't need love or money, just a bitch who doesn't talk and has no teeth.” 10:44:10 PM 8/10/01 RE: Love or Money “amen brother.. j/k” 11:54:32 PM 8/10/01 RE: Love or Money “I guess love, true love is for some people and NOT for others. I am happy for all of you married couples in love. Just know it's rare, and don't judge those who: a.) don't have it b.) don't want it c.) could care less” 1:15:02 AM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “Buddha, I think Biz is offering love or money or both. Make it happen ya lucky stiff.” 1:18:48 AM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “Once I made "love" the subject for my freshman composition classes for a semester. The day things really got wild was when I asked, "If a mother spanks her child, is she doing so because she loves the child?" That even beat out the days the women tried to pin down the men on whether they meant it when they said they loved someone. BTW, the brain chemicals that are released when a receptive person meets a potential partner and create the condition known as "infatuation" (though some call it love), apparently only last about six to nine weeks before they shut off. Look at relationship histories of yourself or your friends and see if there are any of you who have had a string of six-week relationships -- you are just infatuation junkies. The only way to get the chemicals to release is to find a new "trigger person." Of course, biologically, a six-week period is long enough to ensure that mating takes place during at least one full fertility cycle in the woman. So much for romance.” 1:37:26 AM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “i came into the world as a reject > Look into these eyes > Then you'll see the size of the sags > That are pullin on my past > Burnin on my brain > Everyone that burns has to learn from the pain > Hey, I think about the day > My girlie went away with my pay > And these fellas came to play > Now she's stuck with my homies that she f@cked > And I'm just a sucker with a lump in my throat > > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > > Should I be feelin bad > Should I be feelin good > It's kinda sad I'm the laughing stock of the neighborhood > And you'd be figured I'd be movin on > But I'm a sucker like I said > F@cked up in the head, not! > And maybe she just made a mistake > And I should give her a break > But my heart will ache either way > Hey, what the hell, whatchu want me to say? > I won't lie, that I can't deny > > (Chorus) > > I did it all for the nookie, c'mon > The nookie, c'mon > So you can take that cookie > And stick it up your yeah! > > Stick it up your yeah! > Stick it up your yeah! > Stick it up your > > Why did it take so long > Why did I take so long, huh > To figure it out, but I didn't > And I'm the only one > Underneath the sun who didn't get it > I can't believe that I can be deceived > By my so-called girlfriend, (hey) but in reality > She had a hidden agenda > She put my tender, heart in a blender > And still I surrender > > (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump (hey) > Like a chump > > chorus > > I'm only human > It's so easy for your friends to give you their advice > They tell you just let it go > It's easier said than did > I appreciate it, but > leave me alone > Leave me alone > Just leave me alone > Nothing's gonna change > You can go away > I'm just gonna stay here > And always be the same > Nothing's gonna change > You can go away > I'm just gonna stay here > And always be the same > > chorus 2x” 7:10:01 AM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “Great subject, bacpac. I like the book "The Millionaire Next Door" which describes how couples manage to pile up millions of dollars of savings simply by living below their means, not showing off their wealth to the neighbors, relatives, and country club regulars, and being happy with a simple life (Doesn't work if only one spouse is careful with spending). Love can be wonderful or painful, and money can control you or set you free. Be careful what you wish for, learn to be happy with what is within reach. I had decided that I wasn't going to get married and my life was just fine. My husband had a hard time getting my attention, as a result, because I was too busy just being friends with everyone. But maybe that was a good part of the equation. 17 years together and we still get along really well. What's more, we have become a part of each other. Divorce is so painful because you have to rip out a part of yourself, not to mention all the other ugliness that some people inflict on their spouses and children.” 9:10:18 AM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “Wookin' por wuv in all do wong pwaces... (Sung by Elmer Fud)” 9:22:32 AM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “I would marry for love and never for money. Money can only make you happy for so long. Its love that makes one happy forever. I am happy right now not in love though because I got alot of friends and family who love me.” 10:26:01 AM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “I married him for his money” 5:56:25 PM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “Marry for love first, but money can have a profound effect on long term relationships. I think more important than the money issue to some people is "security", I could make more money in my own business, but my wife would be stressed wondering where the next check is coming from. One reason she became a professional was so that she could always fall back on it if something happened to me. (Plus I have a lot of life insurance!).” 6:36:28 PM 8/11/01 RE: Love or Money “Nothing like a big insurance policy to get you registering on the Getting-Some-Ometer.” 2:24:09 AM 8/12/01 RE: Love or Money “Dunadan - I never looked at it like that. I'll go ask.” 2:42:06 AM 8/12/01 RE: Love or Money “I have two beautiful little boys that I love very much. Real love like that - unconditional love - is so special you cannot put a price on it - ever. They look in my eyes at bedtime and say "Mom, I love you" and my hearts melts. Someday, I hope to meet a man who trusts me enough with his heart and his feelings, to do the same. Until then, the lawn needs mowing, the kitchen floor needs mopping and I have laundry to do... Thanks, Lord, for all you have blessed me with in my life time!!” 4:03:12 PM 8/12/01 RE: Love or Money “Naughty by nature, but shy in real life I`ve only known one love and her my wife I loved her more than life, but I see she didn`t love me now it`s two lost souls, cast off in a deep endless sea no right or wrong in this, but cast adrift I always saw your love as some kindda gift over nothing it seems, you sailed away now I`ll know emptiness to my dying day maybe I tempted fait once to often and this time it cost it`s sad you only know the worth of a it, after it`s lost” 4:12:13 PM 8/12/01 RE: Love or Money “I never considered money in my decisions. I do not know how I would decide if I was in dire need.” 5:20:21 PM 8/12/01 RE: Love or Money “One other thought.. 19 years ago this month my mother succumbed to breast cancer after a 5 year battle; 19 years and 2 months ago my dad died too..of what? Basically a broken heart. I like to believe he missed my Mom and just gave up.. "She doesn't want the kind of love she can live with, She wants the kind of love she can't live without."” 6:27:03 PM 8/12/01 RE: Love or Money “gee..I did a real good job killing this thread didn't I? :-(” 3:29:20 AM 8/16/01 RE: Love or Money “TXWM - don't worry about it - I've killed more than a few threads myself - I always wonder if it was something I said or just what other people think I am - so for the most part I decided "so what" and "old threads never die - they just come around again as rethreads" HOI” 6:31:16 AM 8/16/01 RE: Love or Money “Thanks Hog, ya made me smile!! :-) Actually, everytime you post I have this visual of a Hog on Ice and it just cracks me up..lol” 11:26:26 PM 8/18/01 RE: Love or Money “LOL! what the hell does your name mean?” 12:27:09 AM 8/19/01 RE: Love or Money “We rented 'The Family Man' this past weekend. It was a highly mushy but very nice look at this question.” 2:57:27 PM 8/28/01
