Love or Money
Some of us are single. Some have been married. Some are married. Some of us are adults.

If your are currently single and are inclined to get married would it be for love or money?

If you are married same question, but conceal your identity as needed.

RE: Love or Money
Love is an illusion, money is real. Trying to capture the illusion of love takes money. I'm happy with or without $, and have no use for illusions. Looks like marraige isn't in the bear's plans, regardless of love or money.

Good day!

I would marry again for money. I would then divorce her, and take her money, and then marry for love.

I think love is much harder to earn, keep and respect than money. Why one would want to put them in the same catagory, I don't know. The two really can't be compared.

RE: Love or Money
I`m not outta love so, this is gonna sound funny
more than anything I want love, to hell with money
with love you dance to music, you can fly and hear the birds sing
without love, things and money are stuff that don`t mean a thing
you can take all of that money and give it a shove
I`d rather be pennyless and have someone to love

I guess you can have a kind of love for sentimental things and maybe works of art? I never grieve for things lost--I find the memory is just fine.

Memory - ahhh yes memory - memory is my reason for saying "never again" - twenty plus years married to a woman I loved but who was also an addict was enough. I still grieve and love but the memory of the pain lasts just as long.

RE: Love or Money
Rad,
That's comforting to know. I worked with a lady that left her husband when he got laid off. She said she had a lifestyle to keep up and if he couldn't support it she would find someone that would. (She's been married about 6 times now). So how long have you and the Mrs. been married, if you don't mind me asking. It will be 18 yr. this Oct. for Mrs. Rabbit and me.

we became friends 7 years ago, but we only got 'romantically' involved about 4 years ago, and we've been married for more than 2 years.

hopefully, i'll only have to be married to her for about another 70 years or so!

Love is everything and money is useless when it comes to matters of the soul.
I know too many people that thought money would buy them happiness and ended up lonely and broke.

RE: Love or Money
Love is for the living so, we keep on tryin`
it`s those that have none that you see cryin`
money can rent you some love by the hour, or it could even buy her a ring
you can have love without money, but money without love`s not worth a thing
I knew love once, but now that too is lost
only after it`s gone do you know what it cost

RE: Love or Money
I have had both money and love in my day, just never at the same time! Love is much more rewarding than money (illusion or not). On the other hand, think of all the gear you could buy with the money. It's a paradox.

I love you more than ever, more than time and more than love,

I love you more than MONEY and more than the stars above,

Love you more than madness, more than waves upon the sea,

Love you more than life itself, you mean that much to me.

RE: Love or Money
Gotta be for Love. When I was married, it wasn't for love or money. It was for convenience and for the sake of trying to "do the right thing". If I married again, it would have to be for love but I'm not so sure I will ever find anyone capable of dragging me out of my loner phase. What can I say, I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm hot, I'm cold.

This may sound a bit cold but how to have money is to stay married. Two folks working on the pie for enough years and the money piles up quite nicely.

The only way I would ever consider marriage again is if I found the kind of love that is deep, strong, and lasting. I make money by myself...can't make love alone! lol

RE: Love or Money
For love and common goals. You have to have the same basic values regarding what is important...especially money, children, and lifestyle. If not, it is hard to to make the love turn into a long term relationship.

Been married for 27+ years. With that being said, our biggest problems have probably been over money (e.g., not enough).

Excellent book on this subject: Nine Steps to Financial Freedom by Suze Orman. She discusses your "attitude" toward money as a critical concept.

BTW. While I was hiking in the Sierras last week one of my wife's co-workers asked her if she was worried that something could happen to me. My wife's response was, "No. He just got a new life insurance policy." LOL

Nah, no need to see a doc. I'm happy with my life and not ready to find love yet. I believe that is why I am so indecisive. I'll know its love if and when it hits me.

RE: Love or Money
More than money, diamonds, or gold
we had young love, I wanted to know her love even when I grew old
you can`t look at love and figure the real cost
we were once so close together and now I`m lost
both of us stood together that night, what once was two
I thought I knew the worth of true love, but I never knew
never again will I know her lips, her laughter, or hear her sing
my arms are so empty without her in them, it cost me everything
