“I do agree with BacPac about the importance of the responsibility a father has for his children. Its reasonable to read Gojo's story and wonder if he was helping to support his daughter and to wonder why he was out of touch for 16 years. There are valid moral concerns here and in this place you gotta expect them to be raised.

But when morality is used as a stick to beat someone with, it just puts me off.

What moves me in this story is not just Gojo's joy but also - being judgemental for a moment - his active goodness. Some men in his situation have said "da fuggin bij is prolly ta stick me college bills" or "da fargin sugga daddy she dumped me for musta ditched her." Gojo opened his heart and his home without hesitation. To me thats moral and its beautiful.

I have always paid child support, but the cash can't replace the relationship I was denied due to his spitefulness.
