family camping
My wife and I recently took our kids camping at the local Jellystone Park. I was really discusted - on our designated site - basically a gravel driveway - there were literally hundreds and hundreds of cigarette butts. And there were numerous half-melted beer cans in the fire pit.
I will admit that the kids had the time of their life - I am sure we will return - the place really appeals to young kids.
The bathrooms were clean (wife liked that)But I just could not believe how trashy our site was ...
What the hell do "family camping" people do all day - drink beer and chain smoke ???
I cannot wait till the kids are old enough to backpack

RE: family camping
if your site is filthy, you can usually tell the staff, and they will give it a once over before you set up camp.. i complained one time and they just told me to drive around and pick the site i wanted..

people in general are discusting.. no respect for others.

RE: family camping
Actually we did pick that site. The site that was origionally assigned to us had its firepit only 5 feet away from a motorhome in the next site.

RE: family camping
How old are your kids? Canoeing can be a great way to escape the crowd when kids are too small to carry stuff.

Pathman - the kids are 3 and 6. But the wife won't go canoeing with me after "the incident"

RE: family camping
Fill out a complaint card and start looking for a new place to go car camping.
