snownymph- do not I repeat do not take out your ring. Get a bar put in. They get iritated less. and just carry soft soap with ya. Its worth it and you will stay clean. I regretted taking mine out so much that I had it put back in. You grow attached and it is sad to give it up.

RE: Cool scars
Lets see, I got buckshot in the right hip and across my back, bird shot in my right arm from my shoulder to my hand, two 22 bullets in my right leg, two 32`s in the left hip and leg, to many knife wounds to mention `em all, had an arrow break while I was shooting it and it impaled my left hand, almost all of my fingers have bobwire scars, scars on four fingers where they put `em back on, a good scar under my left knee where I fell down on a steel support, scars where they put my right ankle back on and the left leg from kneecap to below the ankle where the pins, plates, screws and bone graphs are, same for the right one,..oh, and the big scars on both hips where they got the bone to rebuild the ankles. I gotta bunch more scars, but they`re scattered from one end to the other.

RE: Cool scars
Once as a kid, my brother was shooting a BB gun. I heard the sound of the BB hitting a metal fence post. I gave it about 2 seconds and grabbed my eye, hit the ground and started screaming. He majorly freaked out! After about 10 seconds of letting him suffer, I uncovered my eye and started laughing. He then proceeded to beat the sh!t out of me.
Good Times!!

Hyper's inbedded itself and his clothing in his chest. His scar is about the size of a pencil eraser. Of course this happened when he was a kid, right before he shotb out the window of a moving train and got hauled into town to the sherrif's office. What a hoodlum!

RE: Cool scars
I actually had shot a 20g shotgun shell primer with the BB gun. It was about 10ft away on our grape arbor. I actually saw the BB arc its way back, then whammy! Man it hurt soooooo bad but I couldnt tell my dad or stepmom cause I would lose my BB gun. Which incidentally happened a few wks later after my train "situation".

The Warren Commission's Report:
Who Shot Hyperpacker?

"It is our conclusion, after studying all of the evidence, and interviewing 100's of witnesses, that the BB gun shot that struck Mr. packer was fired by himself. There was no "conspiracy", and only the lone gunman."

Hyper, for the record, I think that's a bunch of hooey. I know those skaters and Brighton chapter of the KKK wanted you dead. How could you fire that gun 28 times in 2 seconds, and shoot your self with one bb? It was a hit man, it was a hit!

Ice Tea and the other guys at the Bureau just want to say thanks for the detailed lists of identifying marks and encourage all other TTers to supply similar lists. BTW, they would also like you to post clear pics with Phil, without sunglasses, so that the face recognition software will be more effective when they scan the database.

More evidence! Gary Condits refusal to take a lie detector test on the shark attacks is proof he is responsible.

Adding to the count
What follows is my original post on this thread.

We can add to the count.

I opened up the back of my hand with a tree branch spear this wekeend earning 7 stitches.

This on the same hand, and in the same tree that I was in when I got the 3 stitches that appears near the bottom of the original list.

Dumb dumb dumb.

RE: Cool scars

Hmmmmmmm, Let's See....
2 days old - jealous older brother (who was 2 years old at the time) beats me with a metal spatula. I have faint scars from it next to my right eye.

15 years old - pretty cool scar from when a Portugese man-o-war stung me on the ribs on the right side of my body when I was surfing.

16 years old - after a bad wipeout while surfing and I got sucked over the falls, my board nailed me just below the lower lip and left a small scar there.

25 years old - I worked in film shortly after I moved up to New York, and the hours were long and hard. After a 20 hour day, I came home to an apartment in Brooklyn that I was apt-sitting, and tried to shut the windows. The window, which was extrememly heavy and had a thin metal edge at the bottom, came crashing down on two of my fingers. How they didn't break is beyond me. I attribute it to drinking lots of milk.

cool scars...
My list is fairly short...

Working at BK has its occupational hazards, I have 4 or 5 scars up and down my hands and arms from hot grease, the worst is on my right forearm, it got covered in grease, my whole arm was red, but the manager wouldn't let me go home early, the scars are two circles 1/2 inch in diameter.

I have a scar on my right thumb from a cut i don't know how i got.

Scar on the bottom of my foot from being sliced open by a clam shell, but it is on the bottom of my foot so it's hardly visible.

One on my right ankle, from my days as a football star bench warmer, got stepped on by one of the star seniors, that one hurt.

And my final scar was probably the stupidest, we were burning pop bottles in the fire watching them pop, the first 2 were fine, and were burning in the bottom of the fire, and the third one exploded sending burning plastic left from the first 2 flying all over, my friends got it worse than i did, but I have a nice scar on my right leg, we all ran and jumped in the river immediately, then picked pieces of plastic off from all over.

I picked up a cool 4" scar on the outside of my calf whilest taking a digger down a 20" hill. My buddy was going first and I desided to take a differant route and about 2' down my foot flew out from under me and I was on my way! It was hilarious! I was laying down at the bottom of the hill looking up at my buddy who's eyes were as big as dinner plates and I yelled out, "Beat ya to the bottom!". At least someone was there to enjoy it. Bent the shat out of my trekking pole though. It's toast.

Where to start...

Age 5-6 inch scar and what appears to 2nd navel from major surgery

Age 7- Severly burned my left palm on go-cart engine

Age 10- Bruse that turned to scar on my shin (still scabs over time to time)- slipping on rock

Age 14- Quater size scar from impaling my hip on a broken post

Age 15- Removed almost all the skin on my left leg, rollerblade accident (very faint now)

Age 18- Brake my left foot, left some discolored skin (not sure if that counts as a scar)

Age 19- Motorcycle, fence, gravity and me get into fight. Scars on left shin and knee

Age 20- Large scar on my right bicep and all over my upper left arm from 10 foot rock climbing fall (these may not last due to how recent the fall was {roughly six months ago)

age 0 - born with a big ol' rare type of birthmark on my ribcage. hurts when you poke it, but there's no tissue underneath it so it can't be removed. it's smaller now - maybe only 3' in diameter. paler, too; it used to be bright purple but is now a dull lilac.

age 3 - shattered my left elbow jumoing out of a swing. well, it wasn't the jumping so much as it was the landing. had a pin in it for a year - awesome Frankenstein stitch scars.

teenage years - bouts with self-mutilation and 2 homemade tattoos. the tattoos are still there, as stupid-looking as ever.

age 27 - emergency c-section! nice 6" incision right over the top of the pubic bone. the scar is pretty much hidden by... well, what you'd expect to be hiding a scar in that area.

i don't remember the type, it's been YEARS since i talked to a Dr. about it. basically it's an oval with a thin layer of skin, some blood vessels and nerves, but nothing else - no fat, no extra layers of skin, nothing. it's like a dent, it sinks in instead of being raised. a soft poke HURTS! it's so pale now i almost forget i have it. i never notice it in the mirror anymore.

Elbow scarred from sliding 50' down the glacier between Banner and Ritter. Oct 5, 2002

6" C-section scar. Oct 5, 1977

Head bounced off the ice while snowboarding. I have to keep make sure the chin has tons of sunscreen on so the scar doesn't get any darker. Nov 16, 2002

6 stitches by eyebrow, headbutted the sharp edge of my camper shell while trying to dig my truck out of the snow. Dec 29, 1997

(and 5 days later a snowboarder hit me from the back and I ended up in ER again, no scars)

7 staples back of head (covered by hair) when I nosedived into some deep pow and my ski hit the back of my head (no helmet back then). Feb 14, 1998 (Mammoth ER knew me well by then, 3 times in 6 weeks!)

This thread got me wondering. Here's what I came up with:

Age 3- I was mad because my pre-school teacher wouldn’t let me hang by my knees on a bar like she was letting some girls (apparently they were some dumb gymnastics class or something). I went over to the jungle gym, hooked my knees on a bar, swung backwards and opened up the back of my head on the bar directly below me.

Age 4- Following a bunch of older boys at a basketball camp. They started shoving each other. One kid got shoved into me and I flew into the corner of a concrete step and opened up my chin. I remember these two boys arguing with each other over whose fault it was while I stood there bawling with blood running down my shirt.

Age 5- Fell down a bunch of times in a short period of time scraping scab upon scab off my right knee.

Age 8- Whittling with a pocket knife I wasn’t supposed to have, sliced the edge of my little finger. I remember how the cut didn’t bleed for a split second and then how it overflowed with blood.

Age 10- Scraped my upper chest on a broken branch while climbing a tree. Small scratch but it scarred anyway.

Age 12- Mole removal on the inside of my left elbow. Circular scar with little holes all around it where the stitches went in.

High school years- Countless small scars on the backs of my knuckles from playing basketball and having little nicks of skin taken off by other people’s fingernails.

Age 18- Scars on my gums from the time I landed face first on a basketball floor and had our 6’9”, 250 pound center land on the back of my head. Snapped my two front teeth. Lots of time in the dentist’s chair since then.

Age 24- Punched below my left eye by some steroid enraged freak in a basketball game. About 7 stitches for this one.

Age 24- Surgery scar on the side of my left ankle. Bone spurs removed from my heel bone.

Age 25- Landed on my left knee after hitting an unseen speed bump on a bike ride to the Oregon coast. The worst part about it was doing it in front of about 40 people sitting at the edge of the road. I had road grit emerging from that wound for about 6 months.

Age 26- Lower right abdomen- radical orchiectomy.

Age 30- Another mole removal. This one on my abdomen, wound got infected and now I have a knobby little scar above my belly button.

Age 31- Two parallel scars on either side of my left achilles tendon. More surgery to remove bone spurs. One of these covers my age 24 scar
