God Rest Her Soul
The Allman Bros are touring as we speak...

Crossroads seem to come and go... Got tix for the Cuyahoga Fall, OH and the Burgettstown, PA shows. Time is getting close and I'm getting psyched!

Anyone else dig the Bros?

This is an oldie but...
...I heard a version of 'In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed' the other night on WFMV (listener supported NPR station) in New York that blew me away. It was by a band called the Accousticats. Great electric violin instrumentation. Anyone ever hear this?

no one and I repeat NO ONE will ever do a better job than the Allman Brothers Band did when they recorded it live at the Fillmore East

Next he'll be raving about a version of "Free Bird" done by some NYC band! ;)

Frankly, I don't care if I never hear Freebird again! And polish up the reading skills. Never said it was better than the Allmans...Although I will say that Frank Zappa outdid the Allmans on 'Whipping Post'. That one I will stand by...

Free Bird blows!

Aliens did not like Lynyrd Skynyrd and brought down their airship with evil mojo.

roflmao at that statement, treebeard you must have been totally out of it when you heard Zappa do it. To even think he could come close is a laugh ;)

It's all subjective, man. I happen to think Bobby Martin has a voice that did incredible justice to the song, and Zappa's guitar playing is hard to beat...

BTW, Ewk. I first heard Frank & Co. do that song in 1980, front row center at the Bayfront Center in St. Petersburg. Couldn't get much more of a birds-eye view to sample that one than that...
