Anyone ever been to House on the Rock? It was like a waking dream that mixed Alice in Wonderland with Dr. Seuss while smoking opium and doing acid, and having a serious gear jones. That was the only type of collection not housed there it seemed, but if we suggest it, maybe they'll put together a camping gear room. Some of the coolest things were the ornate automated musical rooms, with mechanized violins, gongs, organs, etc., playing songs. The Mikado was aggressively spooky.”

Speaking of collecting things, maybe if we do like the guy that built House on the Rocks, someday we can charge admission for other hikers to tour our gear rooms: Next, the stove room, with 519 variations of backpacking burners and the original catalog pages that lured the buyer. Push your way through the hanging sleeping bag maze, before you move on to the daypack room, followed by the weekender pack room, followed by the weeklong pack room, followed by the thru-hike pack room, followed by the teeny-tiny ultralight backpacker room where everything is very small. And some of this person's stuff has even been used in the field! LOL”
