Good deal on a digital scale
Just got a digital scale the other day for weighing pack items. Weighs up to 5 lbs in increments down to 0.1 ounce. So you can also use it to weigh letters.

It's a very good deal at $21.95 plus $7 shipping. Here's the link:

Mine's working very well. Sure is nice not having to take your stuff to the post office to weigh (unless an item is over 5 lbs.)

The price is hard to believe but I've got one right here, no gimmicks.

An explanation of my earlier comment: "uMmmmm... yeah. Right." I can't imagine that I will ever get to the point that I will worry about 0.1 ounces issues with my pack. My strategy is pretty much like newcanuckkid and pepperDog.. I figure out what do I HAVE to have for the trip.. test out the weight.. if it feels too heavy.. I start re-thinking what I HAVE to have.

0.1 ounce? Not with me, unless I am weighing.. (well.. we wont go there.)

I can vouch for the per item weighing method. It will save you weight. I use a five pound mechanical postal scale. It is good down to half an ounce.

That is a pretty good price for a digital scale.

Steve your scale was refurbished, right? They have dropped the price to 19.95.

I don't care about tenths of ounces, but, for example...I have a pad I would consider replacing. I know what the new pad weighs because it is in the catalog. I have no idea what the old one weighs. I'd want to know the delta to help me make the decision.

And I have a very hard time getting to the Post Office during office hours.

(And the Pinewood Derby is coming up soon, again...)
