Any TTers in Smokies 9/9-9/15

“I see on another thread "Fasttimes" is going to the smokies. I was just wondering if there is any other TTers going to be in the smokies from 9/9-9/15. I have never met a real life TTer yet.
I am going to be going from Clingman's Dome to Fontana Dam the first of the week. Still planning a hike for the last few days of the week.”

I am still planning the second weekend 14-16 so if you have some plans and need a second vehicle and would let a Florida cracker from the flatlands tag along give me a shout.”

i just figured that, if i ain't headed anywhere else, i might grab a pack and head to the smokies to chill with another TTer.”

“Cool, sounds like we have the beginnings of a TT weekend in the Smokies.
I really want to do Clingmans to Fontana, just one of the goals you get in your head. However after that from either the 12th or 13th until Sunday I would be up for a TT hike.
I have been going on solo hikes, no one around here hikes much. So a hike with some TTer would be great.”

“I'll be down in Shining Rock from the 10th-13th. Never been hiking in NC, so I don't know how close that is to the actual Smokies. Got somebody down there planning a 3-day loop. I can let you know where when I find out.
May be hiking somewhere else in NC the 14th-16th. Options are wide open as of now.”

“well we have to be in KY for the 10th but after that we could go in the Smokies. I think I need to get away from here anyway. let me know something if were going. I could always come in from Spence field if you guys start ahead of me and are heading for Fontana.”

“MOM I am going to be at Russell Field on the 10th. Then head down to the dam on the 11th. I already have my reservations for Clingman's to the damn. As far as I know it's just me right now. Rad, Steiny you guys still interested in something late in the week or weekend? I think after I get to the dam, I will rest a day and eat some food, have a couple of cold ones. Then do a loop over Gregory Bald.”

“maybe we could meet you at the Dam then go do Gregory. let me know what you think. we have a mini van to use to haul gear and people in from the Dam. Bill and I both could go seeing as he will be done work then. this gives us a good chance to check out some new gear before our big hike”
