Im going to try to make it providing I can get my hands on a sleeping bag..I had a bit of trouble coming home from my GA hike last weekend..got who-dooed by a homeless person..gave up my fleece liner to what I thought was a needy person..WRONG!!!!
anyway..guess its a blessing in disguse..carrying a bag AND a liner got to be heavy and bulky.

Alast, I have a class I must attend on Saturday the 19th. I had hope to make this one and try out my new Marmot-Never Summer down sleeping bag I got for Christmas. I'd sure like to meet more of the group. Hopefully next time.”

“I'd love to. I did a trout fishing trip on the upper reaches of Deep Creek, just below Clingman's Dome last spring that was great. I plan on doing that again this spring. I'll let you know.
Also, I'd like to do a loop around Mt. Sterling -just off of US Hwy 40 in NC near the Tenn. line. Maybe a three dayer that will leave at the Ranger Station and go up and around past the fire tower on Mt. Sterling.

“mountain harwear muir trail. it's pretty nice. i was concerned it wouldn't be long enough but put it up last night and there is plenty of room. nice vestibule too.”

am i going to drive 9 hours to sleep on the cold hard ground and wake up covered in snow and not want to get out of the bag to go (P) and have trouble boiling water for somehot tea and oats.....just to satisfy my trail jones and go out and play with you fun people again?.....is there not one marble left within?

“I also am wondering if it is a good idea - my decision will probably be based on the weather report the night before. My recent experiences in the cold with a hammock were less than satisfactory.”
