Mr. Morality “Did anybody have the opportunity to view California's finest in his interview this evening? Is anybody disgusted with the lack of character our elected officials display time and time again? I sure am, what do you think? Would you hike with Gary Condit? (the last question is there to simply tie in the subject to hiking, this is afterall, and hiking forum!)” 12:23:08 AM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I quit watching it half way through. I didn't like watching him try to rescue his political career or Connie Chung trying to resuscitate (sp?) hers. Both of them came off very lame.” 12:25:04 AM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Yeah, very true Pathman. I guess that's why I come here, it's the only place I can get honesty and sincerity.” 12:32:33 AM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Amen, brother.” 7:48:05 AM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I would take him out hiking. Just wouldn't bring him back.” 5:59:59 PM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I missed it...did he admit to anything? Was he as scuzzy as he sounds? Details people, details!” 6:06:19 PM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “He was so evasive it was pathetic. He acted like he was the victim. Unbelievable. I think personal issues should be personal until you enter public service. Then it is time to follow the rules or resign if you can't. If he were a Marine Corporal he would be kicked out in disgrace. Since he is a Congressman it is acceptable behavior. Bullsh!t.” 6:28:01 PM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality 6:30:50 PM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “WOW! I read just a little of that interview and cannot believe the evasion and downright refusal to answer questions. Un-frickin-believable! Thanks for the link Pathman.” 7:10:35 PM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Oh my, I agree with bacpac!” 7:37:59 PM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “"I believe I am a moral person, yes" ----Gary Condit Rrrrraaaaaaghhhhhhhh, spit, spit spit, Urraggggggh, spit (flush) spit, wipe mouth{} --- BB's reaction to Gary Condit's Interview” 11:30:16 PM 8/24/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I think his political career is over. He gave his next oponent a lot of ammunition.” 12:25:26 AM 8/25/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Anybody who has an affair while holding elected office is a scumbag and should be kicked out of office. Of course, that also includes Newt Gingrich, Tom Delay, Helen Chenoweth, Ronald Reagan...” 12:28:21 AM 8/25/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Gordon, I agree!” 12:36:38 AM 8/25/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I have asked this question before and I will ask it again. Why are the women so silent on this issue? Most men do not approve of this type of behavior. When we vocalize our opposition we are criticized. Why do women tolerate this type of behavior? Hillary is still Mrs. Clinton. Mrs Condit is still Mrs. Condit. What gives?” 4:45:29 PM 8/25/01 RE: Mr. Morality “He really hid behind this "request" by the Levy family.” 5:57:51 PM 8/25/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I think it is up to the local jury (the folks that elected him) to decide what to do. I guess I think that chasing women seems to come with the territory for many male (and female?) politicians. I don't much care what they do on their own time.” 6:07:49 PM 8/25/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Hey, we seem to send these ego cases to Washington, so they have to do what ego cases have to do.” 12:09:35 AM 8/26/01 RE: Mr. Morality “What you and I do "on our own time" probably is no one else's business. However, people with certain powers and many elected officials have a "moral imperative" because of their power to make major life-and-death decisions such as sending our children off to war, declaring war, and preserving the security of our country. People making those decisions should ideally be uncompromised and of the highest moral character so that decisions can be made with the best motives. Looking at the moral track record of our elected officials on both sides of the aisle is a sad situation from that standpoint.” 3:08:11 AM 8/26/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Bacpac raises a very intriguing and valid question: If the roles were reversed, Clinton and condit , I'm pretty sure would have dumped a cheating spouse. I'd really like to hear from the ladies. What is your opinion as to why their wives stay with such a louse...er I mean spouse.” 7:13:35 AM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I suspect that Hillary and Mrs Condit made their personal deals with the devil many years ago when they realized what kind of man they married. I think that, as citizens, we have also made some deals with the devil about the kind of person who is willing (and enough full of ego) to run for public office.” 10:48:41 AM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “bacpac, Hillary Clinton stuck by Bill for political reasons. Everyone has their own agenda. Condits wife, she may have low self-esteem, and doesn't think she can make it on her own or maybe he's good in bed :{}” 1:53:56 PM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “How hard is it to find someone good in bed?” 1:58:06 PM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “No idea. I really don't know what goes through the minds of other people ..even backpackers” 2:25:53 PM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Why should Hillary care? I have it on good authority that she is a lesbian.” 9:47:07 PM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “OK Well...what is the difference between a wife that sticks it out with a drunk or a druggie or whatever. Some women take their vows as vows. They said for better or worse. I can't think what my husband would have to do to run me off. Certainly if he had an affair that would not do it.” 10:44:38 PM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “When I was married I was hoping my husband Would have an affair so he would leave me alone Ü” 11:00:46 PM 8/27/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Maryphyl, If, a man were to break his vows and commit adultery, wouldn't the woman be free to leave? Or free to stay? According to her choice. You have a good point, for better or for worse, but doesn't adultery break the vows? I suppose they can be forgiven and have the vows put back together.... I know last year, when my ex was leaving me and I found out it was another guy, I was done with her at that point and that was it. After he left her, (or she dumped him?) she sent me a card. I never replied. Even after 21 years, I just plain am not interested. I guess I just don't understand why a woman will stick with a man who repeatedly does that. One instance was way more than enough for me. BTW she filed for divorce and got it in less than 3 months, must be some kind of record. She let me have the house and all my stuff. She just left with all her stuff and I finish paying for the mini van. I made out well in divorce court. You could say I made out like ... uh well, like a woman!!!” 6:46:50 AM 8/28/01 RE: Mr. Morality “MaryPhyl, I don't understand why people stay in any abusive relationship.” 7:02:19 AM 8/28/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I have to agree, if only in part, with MaryPhyl. I do believe that a vow is a vow and I married for life. I am prepared to work through almost anything but at some point enough is enough and it is time to get out and find someone who believes the way you do.” 8:31:05 AM 8/28/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I think not backpacking is grounds for divorce” 8:40:51 AM 8/28/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Hmmm, you think "not backpacking" is grounds for divorce? I like your way of thinking! Condit looks like a Plastic Fantastic Politcian to me. It seems to me that there is more "outrage" over adultery than larceny when it comes to our politicians. To me the graft, bribery, and theft is a more tangible wrong in that it actually effects US in a real way. The phony-baloney moral outrage that we witnessed during the roasting of Clinton was particularly galling to me....."but how can our children grow up to be moral people when our president LIES!!! to us(about a blow-job)!!!" Toss the bum out and try someone else.” 9:25:23 AM 8/28/01 RE: Mr. Morality “There are as many kinds of marriages as there are people. Think about Jackie Onassis. I don't think any of us are so perfect that we can expect lifelong perfection in a mate. That said--Condit is a scummy one and I do not envy his spouse.” 11:39:34 AM 8/29/01 RE: Mr. Morality “I personally do not trust a politician who is a chronic adulterer. That has meant that over the years some people I voted for (and even helped in their campaign) have ultimately disappointed me. Some of these guys are on ego and power trips...seeing what they can conquer. I don't trust them to think clearly when they have to make life and death decisions. (The above is a non-partisan statement).” 4:55:29 PM 8/29/01 RE: Mr. Morality “humanpackmule, I just saw the movie "The Mexican" with Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. Julia asked Brad the question "when is enough enough, and he answered "never". I personally think there is a point where enough is enough.” 5:02:54 PM 8/29/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Brad Pitt is da BOMB- if he had long hair, I'd do him” 9:37:52 AM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “It's apparent that too much emphasis on the TV is put toward Condit's situation, and not toward the REAL ISSUE = CHANDRA LEVY IS MISSING. If the media spent as much time helping police with the missing person investigation as they have with Condit, Chandra and her fate would probably be known by now.” 9:43:09 AM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “AAAMMEEEEENNNNN brother Buddur!” 9:46:40 AM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “"If the media"......that's one hell of an ASSumption. Well, "they" sure have us( some of us) squawkin' like a bunch of jay-birds about this thing. What we need is a psychic(no such thing) to find this Levy chick. Hey, Condit's a fundie, maybe if he prays hard enough she'll be found.” 10:07:29 AM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “The media doesn't work for the police.” 10:12:43 AM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “but they do work against the police alot!” 10:49:06 AM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “Yeah, yeah, blame the messenger. Quote from "Ghostbusters"..... 11:44:49 AM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “"We" keep putting scumbag ego maniacs into office by voting for them (or not voting at all) and "we" keep "the media" writing about pointless drivel by continuing to consume said drivel. Buddar - what exactly could "the media" do to help the police find Chandra Levy?” 8:35:59 PM 8/30/01 RE: Mr. Morality “maybe it's more like "What could the media NOT do to help the investigation?"” 8:43:12 PM 8/30/01
