Jerbear, I don't know that much about NYC either. Do you have an idea of what you want to see? Museums, shows, Bronx Zoo, Greenwich Vil, Central Park? I have always enjoyed the Museum of Natural History. There are a lot of art museums, but I haven't been to them. Shows are great, but I don't know how to get tickets last minute. I'll help you get info, but I can't accompany you as tour guide.

NYC my playground for almost 20 years...couldn't advise on any of the stuff most tourists want to see(never been in SLiberty, top of World Trade, & only to a couple of Broadway shows)...but ahh when darkness falls...

Hey jerbear - consider yourself lucky if ya hook up with twig for that Maine hike - she's a really good gal, and can probably get ya a close encounter with some moose.

RE: TTers in NYC/Close?
jerbear, i would suggest getting a hotel in Linden and taking the train over. i have done this in the past while there for work. the train will take you to penn central (downtown manhatten) which is under Madison Square Garden. Empire State building, Central Park are all in walking distance. You could walk down to gren village if you want or take the subway. i took the subway down and walked back to penn central. you can also take the subway to the world trade center. i wouldn't head to far out of manhatten without someone who knows the deal there. i've been around most of the boroughs at one time or another in the past but only manhatten in the last few years. give me a call or email if you want. i am far from an expert in traversing the city though.

...and Wall-Man is a great guy as well, charming and polite (handsome too) and I had no problems keeping up with him. Looking forward to meeting up with him again.

RE: TTers in NYC/Close?
Jer... Ya really might want to consider staying in NYC for a night(and maybe taking a train in and out of the city... coz parking can cost almost 40 bucks a day and provide major hassles)so you can take in a good dose of night life.
