Pur Hiker water filter, still using it, pair of wool mit/glove combo's gave to my son he lost them on the next trip so they can be found again. many tent stakes, cups, 6 x 8 tarp (and one in our party forgot thier ground cloth) pants, shorts, underwear, socks, t-shirts. Nalgen water bottle, and the best find was two six packs of Beer sitting in the spring so they were ICE COLD in JULY.

Here is the Backpacking Mojo I found this weekend on the trail in the Sandias. Mojo Crystal

I found it and I was soooo.... tempted to take it and then I thought of the Backpacking Mojo, like Madam Pele in Hawaii. I had to leave it in the mountains. I left it, but not where any bozo can take it. I left it where somebody could only find it accidentally, or if I show it to them.

I did an overnighter from the upper Sandia Peak Tram terminal,
Topozone Map North Crest Trail, 10K, Osha Loop with several exploratory branches and camped on Osha Loop. Topozone Map Out Osha Loop, remainder of 10K to South Crest Trail, to the Tram Terminal.

Pathman: While Pele may guard the volcanic rocks of Hawaii, I don't believe you should worry about her in the Sandias. I haven't heard of any mysterious instances of bad luck plagueing geologists who collect samples.

Consider that this crystal may have been revealed to you because you were the right one to find it -- that's why it has mojo for you. It may have wanted to join up with you. Although if you have hidden it and it keeps drawing you back to that location, then perhaps it is working its mojo on you to make you part of the Sandias.

Or it could just be a rock.

No, I don't think Madam Pele is in the Sandias, but that thunderstorm hovering 1000 ft over my tent for longer than an hour had me wondering about the Katchina equivalent. ;-)

But the Mojo may be working. My wife told me I have to go back for it.

Le Subtil, Madam Pele often waylays men prowling late at night, disguised as a beautiful young woman. Be careful out there.

I found a practically new Bibler Eldorado. The bastard sleeping in it claimed he found it first or something to that effect so I reluctantly let him keep it.

Amazingly, I found a bag full of at least a weeks worth of food hanging in a tree not 100 yards away... so I still had a good day.

Does Madam Pele then trick you into marriage and transmorgify into a shrew?

That Elis skeleton reminds me of a moose skull I happened upon while hiking in Wrangell-St. Elias NP in Alaska.

Hello! I found a large car battery at the top of Twin Peaks Trail in Alaska. This mtn trail would have been entirely too steep and narrow for a car.

Besides a pair of men's underwear, I saw a boot facing toward the top of a tree like it was walking towards the top. It was attached at about 10-12ft up the tree.

A woman's belt, lots of beer cans. Oh wait, you meant on the trail, not in the campsite...
