Late arivals to the trail could park at Unicoi Gap. If we stay at Blue Mountain Shelter on Friday night, Parking is only 2 miles north of the Shelter.

RE: ECT Trip! - AT Ga. Section
Hey Bro (Sirpete)..Atlanta would be best..maybe we could meet there and grab a shuttle together..have lots of connections "trail angels" in that area..cheaper than dirt even..just your wallet type..lol

Dude - I'm a maybe, too..great time of year..just a suggestion..going southbound we could meet all the thru-ers coming north and pick up cheap gear, too..what a win-win, eh??

Sounds like that may be an idea TX. I'll restudy the map going southbound.
Atlanta would be the closest airport.

Would it be possible ok with yall if I came in Friday morning and hiked the Thursday and Friday section and hooked up with yall late Fri? The big ? would be if there was enough shuttle car space for an extra.

With a 6 1/2 month pregnant wife, the sympathy weight is stacking up. I didn't have too many problems doing 14 miles and 3400' in one day on my Smokies trip. If I broke raddy's Big Wheels, he might kick my a$$.

I'll be on leave between Louisiana and Germany at that time, and one last AT trip before my European assignment may be just the thing!

Oh boy, I may finally get to do a ECT!
