Yeah, it's kind of like being raped in prison by one guy a week after being gang raped by six guys..."What? That all you got?". Yes folks, Big Ten Football is like prison sex this year, but just minimum security prison sex...” 2:43:56 AM 11/12/07 “ On Wisconsin. 4:55:34 AM 11/12/07 “Tennessee played their best game of the season against Arkansas. If they can just continue with that, hopefully they will run the table before hitting the buzz saw known as LSU. Problem is...we just can't expect that much anymore. Kentucky and/or Vandy can put a beat down on UT. How did GA make it to the top ten?” 6:52:55 AM 11/12/07 “Nigal, one of the funniest posts on this thread. I'm gonna use that analogy. Do I owe you royalties?” 5:02:51 PM 11/12/07 “No Duna, prison sex humor is something that can not be owned by any one person. It belongs to the whole world...” 6:31:03 PM 11/12/07 “How did GA make it to the top ten?” ~chili Dude? Their 8-2. Didn't you see them gnaw that gator bone they found down there in Jacksonville? And the way they "blacked-out" Auburn Saturday? Look up and down this thread. Hardly any mention of them. In fact, You'll see where I've predicted LSU will ultimately wear this year's mythical crown. But woe was me! Coach is already calling for a "red-out" of next weekends KY game (gonna be smashmouth!). Then we roll Tech up in a bolt of honey cloth and send them ramblin' wrecked. LSU beating UGA in the dome? You kidding? Dogs win SEC... last edited: 11/13/07 1:24:27 PM” 1:23:45 PM 11/13/07 “Yessir, but nobody understands prison sex better than Buddha. In fact, he got ZOOKED just this past Saturday.” 1:24:01 PM 11/13/07 “go Buckeyes!!!” 2:51:12 AM 11/14/07 “go eat a booger... 8P” 2:59:35 AM 11/14/07 “LSU beating UGA in the dome? You kidding? Dogs win SEC... last edited: 11/13/07 1:24:27 PM gojo Hey Gojo I just bought my tickets to the game from an online scalper/booking agent ouch! Only way to guarantee tickets though and it's my anniversary. Wife is a super LSU fan so this trip is for her. I guess we should bring our own water, you guys are likely to be sucking mud by then if it doesn't rain. See you there.” 9:23:13 PM 11/14/07 “Kansas Jayhawks vs. Iowa State this Saturday. Don't miss it.” 12:48:08 PM 11/15/07 “We can't lose this week - woo hoo!!!!” 1:07:27 PM 11/15/07 “Why does Ohio State play on Astroturf? To keep the cheerleaders from grazing. I'll be here all week” 3:22:39 PM 11/15/07 “I see less enthusiasm coming from you football fans this season on this thread. Could it be because you still can't get your mind around the fact that Hawaii and Kansas will play for the Mythical National Championship??” 9:32:53 AM 11/17/07 “Man, THE GAME was just spectacular! Everyone who professes respect for tradition and history of the game should have been watching THE GAME! Yessir, between Yale and Harvard they’ve won 27 nation championships! Harvard has 9 Yale has 18 Only Princeton matches Yale with 18 national championships. Yale has a longer history than almost all programs and more national championships than anyone except Princeton, who played in the very first game ever. Talk about TRADITION! And how about THE RIVALRY! The Lehigh-Lafayette game, first played in 1884, is the oldest continuous rivalry in football. Talk about TRADITION! What a great weekend for college football TRADITION! And if you think your team has more TRADITION then you’re just a hypocrite who cherry picks statistics to suit your team history and make your program seem more important. You know who you are, and you’re pathetic. last edited: 11/17/07 12:41:27 PM” 12:41:13 PM 11/17/07 “:-( Turns out MSU beating Alabama wasn't a big deal. Sorry dayhiker.” 2:48:05 PM 11/17/07 “Fuggin'A man...now I know what it felt like to be a Buckeye fan when John Cooper was in Columbus. Congrats Buddha.” 4:29:20 PM 11/17/07 “Tennessee survived a scare, by a thread. Now the big showdown with Kentucky.” 4:51:41 PM 11/17/07 “Illinois is sniffin around for a BCS bowl. Now that OSU beat Michigan, they need Boise State to beat Hawaii and then Washington to beat Boise State. Need a couple other things to happen too, but there is a possibility baby!” 7:56:04 PM 11/17/07 “ On Wisconsin. 6:03:13 AM 11/18/07 “Can the BCS prove anything this year? The championship game may be the two teams with the sleaziest schedules.” 7:18:05 AM 11/18/07 “Maybe not Kansas and Hawaii but unless either screws up, it could well be LSU and Kansas. You must be flying high, haiku abuser.” 8:04:41 AM 11/18/07 “Now the big showdown with Kentucky. ~chili They're licking their wounds just now, but they'll be ready next week. The Bulldog Nation is watching - GO CATS!” 2:46:26 PM 11/18/07 “I would say that I'm ready for basketball season, but we're gonna suck this year in bball too.” 4:27:24 PM 11/18/07 THE GAME “Thanks for that bit of history Arclite. When I was a kid, I went to most of the Harvard home games. I saw the famous 29-29 tie. Yale had a seriously great team. Calvin Hill, who played for Yale that day went on to be an NFL rookie of the year. The Yale quarterback, Brian Dowling, made it to the NFL, but didn't get mush notice there. He did, however, obtain enduring fame as "BD" in Doonesbury comics. Other Yale Players were also in the early Doonesbury comics. I don't think anyone playing for Harvard that day made it to the NFL. The most famous person who played for the Crimson that day was the now famous actor Tommy Lee Jones. Yale was heavily favored. I had a great view of the exciting close to that game, because many of the Harvard fans had gone home with their team behind 29-13 with minutes left to play (Harvard came with 8 points with 42 seconds on the play clock) and I could pretty much room the front rows to follow the line of scrimage. The news stories talk about the exciting finish before 40,000 fans are overlooking the fact that most of them had gone home already. I took my kids to a few games when they were little, when I got discount tickets for local families - but Harvard but the games didn't have the excitement or the attention that they had in my day.” 5:10:37 PM 11/18/07 “I watched some of "THE GAME" on TV yesterday, it wasn't very exciting - but the tradition is still there.” 7:18:20 PM 11/18/07 Let's talk rivalry... “The oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi and one of the oldest in the nation, Kansas vs Missouri. Folks, this could be a barn-burner.” 7:20:08 PM 11/18/07 “Technically speaking, can a sod barn even burn?” 3:53:12 AM 11/19/07 “Any Louisville fans here? It looks like I'll be traveling down to your fair city for the season finale and would enjoy tipping a few cold ones with some locals before the game.” 3:56:10 AM 11/19/07 “It is the sign of the Apocolypse.... Kansas v Missouri....... The winner probably gets a shot at a national championship.” 6:49:44 AM 11/19/07 “Playing notre dumb this sat. We're actually favored by a FG. Too bad our kicker can't find the uprights lately. May be the first time in team history that we have to pass on every down because we actually run out of running backs (down to 6th string right now) and defensive players willing to try out that position (tried 1 or 2 so far). At least the weather forecast looks good - sunny and 67.” 8:26:12 AM 11/19/07 “So far, fortune smiles On the Fighting Manginos Haiku to rescue! Hey, Violin, Haiku isn't the only thing I'm abusing, if you know what I mean..... And sod doesn't really burn, but it smolders for a long, long time. To begin a thread Your topic should be pithy And Haiku worthy Kansas vs. Missouri. Biggest game in college football so far this season. I hope you all tune in to watch. Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk, K! U!” 9:35:03 PM 11/19/07 “I think sod burns pretty well if it's dried properly. The Irish have been burning "turf" for centuries. (.... though the action primarily associated with sod involves 'busting')” 9:42:49 PM 11/19/07 “Well I've had to cancel Thanksgiving. I'm so stuffed from eating crow I couldn't possibly eat any more this week.” 3:15:19 AM 11/20/07 “I knew a woman wut got sod in haf.” 4:44:04 AM 11/20/07 “"I know this: Bill wants to hire the finest coach in the country." --- LLLLLLoyd Carr Sorry LLLLLLoyd, Jim Tressel isn't going anywhere.” 6:06:13 AM 11/20/07 “Maybe if Tressel put on about two hundred pounds and wore Crimson and Blue, he could be considered one of the top coaches in the country.... Any predictions on the Kansas-Misery game from you pundits?” 8:01:52 AM 11/20/07 “Kansas takes it. They are fired up and have the chance to do something they can look back on for their entire life.” 8:08:15 AM 11/20/07 “Tough call. Missouri pulled off a tight win against Illinois in St. Louis at the start of the season. I have watched them with respect since then. At that point no one knew that either team would fair as well as they have. The Kansas offense looks overwhelming though.” 8:53:18 AM 11/20/07 “I gotta go with Missou on this one. K has had a great year, but the Missou defense will be just good enough.” 8:55:41 AM 11/20/07 “Kansas will win. Wva. will lose. Kentucky will win. (sorry Chili) LSU will lose. setting up the "Throwdown-Showdown" Jayhawks v. Buckeyes, with fine beer on the line.” 12:10:39 PM 11/20/07 “It might have been a different game Nigal is Henne and Hart weren't hurt. Hey, did anyone read the story about how the pride of the SEC, Old Miss, and a bunch of football players stole a bunch of hotel items TWICE! Also, much congrats to Miss St. for beating the powerhouse online university of Gardner Webb.” 12:17:47 PM 11/20/07 “Since when is Ole Siss the pride of the SEC? I did see where 20 of their players were put on "probation." That probation didn't involve missing any games though.” 12:21:51 PM 11/20/07 “bubba bear needs to go back on the drugs. LOL, it was double secret probation, dayhiker. Figures for Ole Miss. last edited: 11/20/07 12:35:17 PM” 12:32:59 PM 11/20/07 “BCS Trivia Quiz. 1. Of the currently ranked top 5 teams, which team's only loss is to an unranked opponant? 2. For which of the following reasons should Kansas be ranked ahead of LSU? a. LSU is about to have yet another coach bail on the program. b. Kansas is #1 in fewest penalties per game, LSU is 118th. c. Kansas is #7 in total offense, LSU is 21st. d. Kansas is #2 in scoring defense, LSU is 9th. e. Kansas is 11-0, LSU is 10-1. f. Kansas lost to nobody. LSU lost to an unranked team, who lost to every ranked team they played, except LSU. g. Kansas plays in a tougher conference. h. all of the above.” 12:36:05 PM 11/20/07 “OXFORD The Ole Miss football program is already reeling from one of its worst seasons on the field in recent memory. Now things are getting ugly off the field as well. The Rebels put 20 football players on probation for twice stealing pillows and radios from team hotels, said athletic director Pete Boone through a university statement. A list of the disciplined players was not available. Despite the probation, it appears the players will be allowed to play in Friday's season-ending game against Mississippi State. The Rebels lost 41-24 to No. 1 LSU on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. "The student-athletes involved have personally repaid the value of these items, which range from $15 to $40," said Boone in the statement released on Sunday afternoon. Since restitution was paid, there are no NCAA violations, according to senior compliance director David Wells. Sunday's announcement is the latest in a string of disciplinary violations for the Ole Miss football team. Six players have been suspended for at least one game over the past two months, all for what coach Ed Orgeron said were "violations of team rules." All six have returned to the team. Orgeron bristled earlier in the season when asked if the suspensions were becoming a trend. But after Sunday's announcement, about 25 percent of the football roster has been hit with some sort of punishment during the current season. Boone and Orgeron did not respond to phone messages on Sunday. Boone is supposed to be available at Orgeron's press conference today to talk about the incident. "These athletes are on indefinite probation," Orgeron said in the statement. "Any actions similar to this will result in more severe penalties which may include dismissal from the team." Ole Miss (3-8, 0-7 SEC) is trying to avoid its first winless season in conference play since 1982. If you google "Old Miss Football theft", there are many stories on the matter to choose from.” 12:38:44 PM 11/20/07 “opponant? Get back on your meds. How many top 30 teams has Ohio State played? Answer: NO Top Ten teams, and a grand total of three top thirty teams, of which they Lost one. last edited: 11/20/07 12:44:33 PM” 12:39:23 PM 11/20/07 “ole miss - lolololol” 12:45:11 PM 11/20/07 “You do know that MSU (Miss State) and UM (Ole Miss) are two different teams, bubba bear? Hope you aren't THAT stupid, as to think they are the same. last edited: 11/20/07 12:51:13 PM” 12:49:49 PM 11/20/07 “Ummmm, Buddha, you need to check your facts. UK was ranked #17 when they knocked off then #1 LSU. LSU dropped to #5 and the Wildcats jumped up to #8. UK is currently unranked, which may have caused your "Kansas deserves the higher ranking" delusion. "g. Kansas plays in a tougher conference." Riiiiiight. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid, man.” 1:32:01 PM 11/20/07 Jump to Page << prev
