rankings are not exactly an exact science
Everybody ranks them differently (team needs, stars, etc.). Reality is that each class rarely makes a large contribution until its 3rd season. Also, most great players are not blue chippers but good high school athletes that really mature in college. We'll know each team’s best and worst ranking tomorrow. Lemming had UT ranked No. 9 before landing the 8th ranked WR. Who qualifies academically will really be interesting for the SEC.

How bout ND?

Ty's first full year as coach and we get a possible top 5 recruiting class. two top o-line recruits, two monster d-line recruits, 3-4 fast LBs (including one snatched from bama this afternoon), 4 top d-backs, a top five qb (from the buckeyes back yard), 4 top wide receivers, the #1 and #8 ranked TEs, and a handful of running backs.

Not too shabby for a team that stunk up their last two games...

well, in ND defence, their last game was against a superbly coached, well disciplined group of intelligent athletes who will rock the football world next season.

LOL, you guys are all cracking me up.

Chili, you MUST be a good lawyer because it's so hard to bait you. That was a really funny reply (had me in tears).

Thanks for getting us back on topic, Buddah.

“25 slow white boys” LOL. I know that Kansas State picked up a guy who was a good player, but couldn't get into Florida (the grade point average of this year's freshman class is 3.81). 25 slow, dumb white boys.

Yeah, I'm definitely a mix, Day. I'm extremely logical and don't have much patience for artsy-fartsy esthetics-only people, although I was blessed with artistic talent from my mother. I love being able to understand what qualities cause a builidng to be beautiful ("Architecture is frozen music." (forgot who)). I believe that beauty in a building comes from clearly defined structure and details, interplay of interior spaces with the environment, a consistent philosophy of “Less is more” (Mies Van Der Rohe), and integration of all building systems into an organic whole. “Form and Function are one” (FLW). I HATE the term “curb appeal”. That stands for everything that I find disgusting.

I enjoy "the big picture", details, creative problem solving, research, manual labor, ...

and THE GATORS!
If THE GATORS don't have the mythically #1 rated recruiting class in the nation, it's a close call. We got a beauty this year, including Parade Player of the Year, Chris Leak. I'm excited! When does spring practice start?

I hope you guys can stop laughing long enough to read this.
Kansas has a class of 26 coming in, 13 of which are junior college transfers. Rivals.com has KU ranked in the top 25 in recruiting. Not bad for a team that went 2-10 last season.
Kansas State stole the best player in the state from KU, but we got the second best. We have recruits coming in from New York, Ontario, Canada, 6 from California, just to mention a few.
Thankyou for any and all abuse that you so liberally shower upon my team. I predict that KU will be a sub-par team again this year, but after that, they will be competitive.
BTW, there are two guys on the team that are fast enough to be first in line at every meal. So there!

dayhiker..looks like alabama came on down, and the PRICE was WRONG!!!

Auburn signed 24 players to national letters of intent on Wednesday, including six Alabama natives and 18 out-of-state prospects. In addition to the three tight ends, six defensive ends and two cornerbacks, the Tigers added three offensive linemen, two quarterbacks, two running backs, two fullbacks, one punter, one kicker, one linebacker and one safety.

Mike Price's first class at Alabama won't be spangled with accolades, and there are good reasons.

NCAA probation hurt. So does two coaching staff overhauls in a span of 24 months.

The 17 players who logged on with the Crimson Tide on national signing day make up roughly 66 percent of the number signed by Alabama's biggest rivals. Price and his staff had 21 days to be on the road recruiting.

Well, here's how I see it. Mike Price has been doing a lot with a little for a long time in Pullman. I have a feeling that he will pull off some big wins with the players he has. He must be able to motivate young men to play at the top of their potential, otherwise he wouldn't have been considered at Bama.

How many SEC Football Fans does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

At VANDERBILT: it takes two, one to change the bulb and one more to explain how they did it every bit as good as the bulbs changed at Harvard.

At GEORGIA: it takes two, one to change the bulb and one to phone an engineer at Georgia Tech for instructions.

At FLORIDA: it takes four, one to screw in the bulb and three to figure out how to get stoned off the old one.

At ALABAMA: it takes five, one to change it, three to reminisce about how The Bear would have done it, and one to throw the old bulb at an NCAA
investigator.

At OLE MISS: it takes six, one to change it, two to mix the drinks and three to find the perfect J. Crew outfit to wear for the occasion.

At LSU: it takes seven, and each one gets credit for five semester hours.

At KENTUCKY: it takes eight, one to screw it in and seven to discuss how much brighter it seems to shine during basketball season.

At TENNESSEE: it takes ten, two to figure out how to screw it in, two to buy an orange lampshade, and six to phone a radio call-in show and talk
about how much they hate Alabama.

At MISSISSIPPI STATE: it takes fifteen, one to screw in the bulb, two to buy the Skoal, and twelve to yell, "GO TO HELL, OLE MISS".

At AUBURN: it takes one hundred, one to change it, forty-nine to talk about how they did it better than at Bama, and fifty to get drunk and roll
toomer's Corner when finished.

At SOUTH CAROLINA: it takes 80,000, one to screw it in and 79,999 to discuss how this finally will be the year that they have a decent
football team.

At ARKANSAS: None. There is no electricity in Arkansas.

I agree. These conspiracy theory folks forget about rule number 1. Price states that he woke up fully clothed with a strange person lying next to him. If that were true, would you actually leave that person in the room and go play golf? If so, then you're not smart enough to be a head football coach.
