“That's not decided yet is it? It is my understanding that the VOLS are in limbo as far as a bowl. I think that they are on hold for a possible BCS or the Capital One.

I haven't read today's paper. I leave for work before the paperboy can get to my house. Been here since 5:15.

YA HERE THAT, DUNADAN? Hard work my boy. That way you don't have to be a drain on society. Unless you're handicapped in some way. Then the rest of us can chip in to send the short bus to pick you up and bring you to Sipsey.

Everyone wants the GATORS for their bowl. GATOR fans buy tickets, lots of tickets. We travel well, but it's especially nice when the bowl is close to home.

We're going to the Outback Bowl. Got reservations for a romantic place called The Plantation on Crystal River. We'll stay there New Years Eve, then drive about an hour south for the game. We'll also be spending Thursday and Friday nights there. That way we can kayak and swim with the manatees. Should be a lovely weekend.

But I'd be happy to pay your way to Sipsey, just as long as I have that choice. If you insist on taking my money through taxes and forcing me to pay for some government run opera for the homeless entitlement, I won't have enough left to get you to Sipsey and still donate to the causes that I THINK are worthwhile.”

arc, I never knew an Architect that could make it to the office before 9. They tend to work til 9 as well, but whatever. Seriously, I think it's the difference in the way Architects and Engineers are educated. Most engineers tend to come in early and leave earlier than yall. I think it has to do with the way yalls studios are set up where they encourage all night work sessions. That's the way they do it on the farm anyway. Auburn actually has an excellent Architecture program. I have several clients that are former State of Florida residents that are graduates of AU (did I just compliemt those guys, that'll be our little secret)”

“I already know that. What with Army's record, Navy's success this season, and the snow, I am not even close to being up for this game. If they postpone or cancel it, I will not be upset in the least. But for what the tickets cost, there's no way I'm not going, even if to witness the debacle of the century.

Then again, who knows. Army-Navy sometimes has a way of not working out the way it's supposed to go. It would be neat if I were pleasantly surprised. But I'm not betting on that.

“What ARE you babbling on about, Nigal? My team doesn't have any faults. Except that they’re not undefeated. But then they actually played a schedule. Not some weak excuse for a schedule, like some teams who shall remain nameless except to say they’re too stupid to come in from the cold. The kids who play for Florida are smart enough to understand that sub-zero weather is inhospitable to human beings. My team beat both the #3 and #5 rated teams in the country. That is one fine team we have!


Please don't help to dredge up memories of architorture school...ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Seven years with no sleep for days on end. I once stayed up for 56 hours straight, took and hour nap, then stayed up another 16 hours to finish a project. I'm glad some of you folks had time for a life while you were in school. Spring Break? Yeah, right! What the heck was that? AU has an excellent architecture school, day. Although I believe I read that the guy who started their Rural School (?) just died. They did some excellent work with recycled materials for low-income housing. I love getting up early. I'm usually at work around 6am. Sometimes I even leave work before 7pm. But on the weekends I sleep in and don't get up until 5:30am.


Good luck Geobeet. My mother used to go to Army/Navy whenever it was at West Point. Beautiful place up there. My cousin graduated #1 out of the Naval Academy. But he’s a dip wad who went on to Harvard law school (no offense chili). My allegiance is with Army. My dad was in the Army during WWII. GO ARMY! As if that will help.”

“Back in 1971 I went to the Army-Navy game with a friend and his family. His Dad was a naval officer in D.C. I'm not sure who won the game....I just remember it was cold...real cold.

And you seem to spend a lot of time trying to convience eveyone of this. #3 and #5 don't really count very much in the end does it? Michigan beat last years champs when they were ranked #2 and they did it when it counts, at the end of the season. Having FSU rip ya new one at the end of the season obviousely does make a difference. This becomes painfully clear when we see Florida clear down in the basement at #16 with a record of 8-4. And Michigan is #4 with 10-2. I can't help the division they are in.

No poop, popsicle toes. You want something better? Then convince those Neanderthals in the wimp-ten and buttpac-ten that they need to emerge from the Stone Age and have a conference playoff.

Have fun losing to USC, nigal. The wimp-ten usually loses that boring old bowl. They decided to exclude the big-twelve and SEC after 1946 (the last year Bama beat USC) because they were tired of losing to the better conferences.

I only complain about officiating when it’s so obvious that the entire sports world talks about it. Only a Michigan fan could miss that. Must be snow-blind.

The Kansas St. game didn’t surprise me, it shocked me! What a great win! They played inspired football while Oklahoma was flat. K. St. could beat anybody playing like they did.



We have two more years of the BCS. They will probably tweak it next year. They’ll probably make it so that you can’t go to the chumpionship game unless you win your conference. They’re also discussing adding at least one game after the bowls. That’s an improvement but, until all conferences have a playoff game, we’re stuck with something close to what we’ve got.

That’s the guy, day. I think he started what Auburn calls, The Rural Studio. I’ve read articles and seen pictures in Architectural Record and Dwell magazines. Nice work, and a laudable goal. They helped improved the lives of some poor rural folks using recycled materials and paying attention to environmental technology. I hope they continue their creative excellence.
