Nobody wants to watch Bama on TV anymore because they have THE ugliest uniforms (Nebraska and Oklahoma are close). The numbers on their helmets look stupid and dull, just like their offense. It's tragic to hear an old football codger wheeze about the long forgotten glory days. Nobody remembers when Bama wasn’t on probation.

LOL! I concur. I feel bad for their coach who I hold in the highest regard having to try to rein in all those thugs. Did you guys see the overall national rankings for colleges? Florida came in 50th. OSU was paltry 66th tied with Miami U of Ohio.

I know I'm biased but I do believe that the maze and blue winged helmet is the prettiest helmet in the NCAA. Michigan is a heck of a school. I see a lot of different rankings in our paper (being that this is a college town). Florida ranks with Michigan, UCLA, Washington, and Texas in terms of size and academics. Rankings depend on so many factors. Where did UVa rank in the USNaWR listings? I turned down UVa for Florida. I didn’t apply to any Ivy leagues (although my mother wanted me to go to Dartmouth...yuck). Michigan’s winters kept me from even considering it. Another listing I saw has U Chicago as the best school, not Princeton or Harvard. U Chicago has the most Nobel Prize winning professors. But can they teach?

OSU has nuts on their helmets too make up for lack of them elsewhere. Those stupid stickers look like flowers. I’ll bet their original intent was to put pansies on their helmets.

I disagree. Exciting football is best. USC should be great this year and they play in a weak league. That makes for high rankings; just ask any Michigan fan. Florida has always had the same colors. I think it’s time for some folks to upgrade from black and white to color TV. At least two pro teams thought they were good enough colors to copy. We used to have a big “F” on our helmets. But how stupid is it to have a big letter on your helmet (a big F is really, really stupid)? That’s almost as stupid as a big number. GATORS in script looks great by any measure. Now, one game they decided to come out in all blue. Uuuuuuhg-leee, Lord I hope they never do that again. I’ve seen all orange too, Trailhound. Believe me, all blue is worse. Blue tops with white pants, that’s my favorite combination. It scares the heck out of has-been teams like Ohio St., Bama, and UT.

I hate Nd almost as much as I hate them buckeyes but the big difference is I have all the respect in the world for ND. So much tradition and such a fighting spirit!
