catnip=no mosquitos

“I read in the Detroit Free Press today about a researcher who tested the effectiveness of catnip in repelling mosquitos. The test results indicated that catnip is 10 times stronger than DEET.

The article was one of those small filler type things. Anyone know more about this? And has anyone tried rolling in the stuff before going for a hike?”

(I like to crush it and give it to a kitty here and there, for a fun occasion. I still have a photo of what appears to be a "drunk" kitty from like 15 years ago!! LOL!!!)

“When I was a kid, one of my neighbors smoked catnip to get high. Pretty subtle buzz. Most any smoke will keep skeeters away.”

I've heard putting bounce in your pocket works for mosquitos. I would think drying your clothes with it should help too.”

Bounce sheets under your hat will repel gnats, but not much help with mosquitos.”

“i wonder what it is about some people that attracts mosquitos? when my brother and i go outside together, he gets about 50 bites, and i get none.”

“My field is loaded with cat nip. And we have had really bad mosquitos this year. I dont know about rubbing it on you I think the stuff smells terrible. I would stay away from you”

lyra, I'm one of THOSE people that get mosquito bites, and flea bites when others are around too. I watched a dog with fleas. I must of had 30 bites before I knew what was happening.”
