DescriptionWe'll go from Longmire around back to Longmire. The hike is always a challenging, vigourous, and wounderous hike - climbing and going down through deep valleys with roaring water and some beatiful ridgelines, like Emerald Ridge. The trail is often steep and measures most often from 2.5-6k feet. 2-3k + feet of elevation gain or loss is common, sometimes a couple of times a day. Ideally, I want to do this hike inside of 11 days. From experience, I know that everyone should prepare to hike light, and for that means of hiking there are ways to cache food too. I want a party of about 4-6 hikers. The camp sites are based on scheduled reservations, and some sites have shelters, like at Mowich. The longer you wait to commit, the harder it is to secure dates and sites.
