trips - Yellowstone - Bechler RiverTrip Info
DescriptionTrip is full, if you'd like to be an alternate let me know... 30.3 miles of stunning Yellowstone scenery. This trip starts at the Lone Star trailhead Southeast of Old Faithful, and finishes at the Bechler River Ranger Station in the far Southwest corner of the park. Highlights include - Lone Star Geyser, Bechler River Canyon, Twister Falls, Colonnade Falls, Bechler Meadows, and a side trip to the Shosone Geyser Basin. Magnificent Scenery, and incredible fishing. trip dates and mileage - Saturday August 11 - Drive to Grand Teton National Park and camp (About an 8 to 10 hour drive from Denver) Sunday August 12 - Dayhike in Grand Teton NP, do the tourist thing, camp. Monday August 13 - Set up the car shuttle, do the tourist thing, Hike in to campsite 0A1 3.0 miles. Tuesday August 14 - Hike to campsite 9D3 8.6 miles. Wednesday August 15 - Hike to campsite 9B6 6.8 miles. Thursday August 16 - Hike to campsite 9B1 6.8 miles. Friday August 17 - Hike out 3.2 or 4.4 miles, do the tourist thing, camp. Saturday August 18 - Drive back to Denver. This will be a fairly leisurely trip, and the schedule should hopefully allow the participants to do this while only taking 5 vacation days. This is Grizzly territory so we'd like a group of at least 4.  Elevation Profiles (Days 1-5 in order) -
