trips - The Roan HighlandsTrip Info
DescriptionOpen invite to anyone that needs a good reason to go backpacking. Myself and some friends are planning backpacking trip up in the Roan Highlands area on the 16th to 19th of this month. This will be a 4 day, 3 night hike over many open top balds. I have hiked most of this hike before and it was my most favorite one yet. If you are not able to hike all 4 days let me know. There are some options for just a 2 or 3 day hike as well. I am posting two maps showing differentiate hikes. One of the option are one night in Roan Mnt Shelter (the highest shelter on the AT,) the next in Overmountain Shelter (the largest on the AT,) then the next night, if all weather goes well, on Big Hump Bald. This should be a hike to remember for a lifetime.   Here is a map for anyone that can not make the 4 day hike, but would be able to hike sat sun.
