Description

This is the 4th Elk River float trip I've organized through TT. I've had a good time on all the trips and this one will be fun if we get some good weather. The temps this time of year should be mild and warm...not hot.

We are meeting Saturday morning around 10-11am at the Elk River Canoe rental business in Kelso, TN. We will shuttle up river for a ~14 mile trip. We'll float part of the way Saturday afternoon and stop along the river and spend the night. Sunday morning we'll get back on the river and float down to the take out where our cars are parked.

I plan on doing the same section of river as last time because of the great camping site along the river. It's difficult to find a flat spot for camping along the river and this section has a nice large site for several tents.

Bring your coolers and luxury gear if it'll fit in a canoe or kayak. Last time there was plenty of firewood around the area.

I'll be floating in my Old Town 2-seater kayak and my daughter, BusyBee, may be with us on the trip.

The Elk River outfitter where we'll be going is located just east of Fayettville, Tennessee on Hwy 64. Canoe and kayak rentals are available from the outfitter at the river. I'm friends with the outfitter and they'll shuttle us where ever we need to go. Please ask for directions if you need them.
