trips - Hike,Boat,Canoe,Kayak TripTrip Info
DescriptionWe will be camping on the pennisula which can be reached from the Grube Ridge Trail to the Pennisula Trail about 5 miles or you can go a number of ways with different lengths of hikes. However you chose to travel I thought it would be nice to camp on the west side of the Pennisula it is a great place to watch the sun set. Canoe and Kayakers I want to put in at Crooked Creek Boat Ramp which would give us a 4-5 mile float into the Pennuisula I have went this way a few times and always have seen Eagles on the way in and out. I will bring gear in my canoe to fry fish and maybe we will luck out and get some fresh fish. There is no place I know of to rent a canoe or kayak at this boat ramp and in fact there is nothing at this boat ramp but a parking lot. Let's meet up at about 9:00 a.m. on Saturday Morning and load up and head out this should put us at the Campsite around 11:30 to 12:00 for lunch then we can swim, fish or whatever. Trip is open to all as I will bring both of the boys and maybe the wife if I can talk her into it. Crooked Creek Boat Ramp is South of Nashville,In off of highway 46 to a little town called Belmont,In there is an Outfitter there on the corner of T C Steel Road and highway 46 turn Left.Stay on that road to the boat ramp.If you need more help maybe a can find a map online and post it later.Another option would be to put in at Cutrights Boat Ramp and head right over to the campsite. The water is up at Monroe and I seen the DNR on tv and they said it was dropping 4 inches a day.
