trips - Salt Creek Canyon - CanyonlandsTrip Info
DescriptionPERMIT IS FULL Explore Salt Creek Canyon, Canyonlands National Park, Utah. Salt Creek is in the Needles District of the park. Trailhead is just west of Cathedral Butte off an unpaved road (passable by passenger car though) just beyond the southern boundary of the park. We'll drive to the Moab area on Friday the 24th and spend the night there and begin the trip on the 25th hiking to the first campsite roughly 5 miles in. There are many things to explore along the way and in the area so low mileage days will still be full of activity. On day two we'll continue down canyon to our next camp passing several runis sites and a few arches - again much exploration is available. On day 3 we'll turn around and return to the car and also to Denver (likely a fairly late arrival back in Denver). I've submitted a permit application for 4 people and i've invited a couple of folks who've given tentative answers. If your interested, let me know and I'll then confirm there's space on the permit. When the permit is full, I'll note such on this page. Mike
