trips - HIKE,CANOE,KAYAK DEAM WILDERNESSTrip Info
DescriptionThis will be the same trip that we planned in June but didn't make it on. Hey this one is a go no matter HOW HIGH THE WATER IS or HOW HARD THE WIND IS BLOWING so get your gear together and get ready. If you are coming by Kayak Canoe or any other Watercraft I am putting in at Crooked Creek Boat Ramp which can only be accessed from Highway 46 West fo Nashville,In or East of Bloomington,In. Directions would be as follows:TAKE 46 FROM EITHER TOWN BLOOMINGTON OR NASHVILLE AND FOLLOW 46 TO A LITTLE HOLE IN THE ROAD CALLED BELMONT YOU WILL NEED TO TURN SOUTH ONTO T C STEELE ROAD OFF OF 46 AND FOLLOW IT ALL THE WAY TO THE CROOKED CREEK RAMP.MEETING TIME WILL BE 10:00 AM LOCAL TIME. We will camp on the Peninsula. On the west of the peninsula you get the great sunset there. If you are going to hike you could start at Blackwell Horse Camp or Hayes Trailhead.Or probally the easiest hike would be from Grubb Ridge.Almost all of the trails would be about 5 miles and you would need to know how to cut across the ridge to Patton Cave to either come from Blackwell or Hayes TRailhead to get out on the Peninsula. I will bring extra water as the Lake Water is now a nice shade of GREEN. Any questions e-mail at kevinlikestohike@yahoo.com
