Description

I'll post the nitty gritty later, but basically we will be trekking from US19E near Roan Mountain TN to Dennis Cove Road near the 321/Watuga Dam area, or vice versa. It is around 23.5 miles

Here is my preliminary trip plan. I will be looking at the maps to see if I can find a campsite that will even out the days somewhat.

US19E to Dennis Cove Road (23.8 miles)

Friday

Meet at Mountain Harbor Hostel

Saturday

Hike from US19E to Moreland Gap Shelter (17.7 miles)

Sunday

Hike from Moreland Gap Shelter to Dennis Cove Road (6.1 miles)

Due to finding out about a new shelter, in order to break up the days more evenly, I am now thinking of Hiking from Dennis Cove Road to US19E. Here is what I am thinking now....

Friday:

Saturday:

Shuttle to Dennis Cove Road
Hike from Dennis Cove Road to Mountaineer Falls Shelter (new for 2006) (15.4 miles)

Sunday:

Hike from Mountaineer Falls Shelter to US19E (8.4 miles)
