trips - Glacier National Park Backpacking TripTrip Info
DescriptionEDITED 10/8/08 I'm posting this trip so we can start some dialogue about it. Here's the problem: 1) ******I am working on getting more then 4 slots******.. 2) The reservation process is a lottery, and the application looks more difficult then filing taxes. 3) We are not guaranteed to get any of the sites/itineraries that we apply for. Here is what I'm am thinking: I'm going to go ahead and fill out an application (they don't accept them until APRIL 2009). The cost is $30. We will get a response by the end of MAY 2009. I have several routes picked out which I will start posting on a thread. If my application is picked and we get a route we want, then we go. If my application isn't picked, or if we don't get a suitable hike, I'll eat the $30 and we regroup. Options then would be: 1) Doing Glacier NP anyway 2) Wind River Range 3) Sawtooth Idaho 4) PCT (I would prefer Washington State) 5) Yellowstone NP 6) Or wherever the heck we want to spend 6 days hiking out west..... I will be posting trip itineries for discussion during the next few days. Suggestions and comments are welcomed. I plan on going the first or second week in August.
