Description

Hi to the fans of the southwest desert,

I'm signed up for a national Sierra Club base camp trip from Feb 22 - March 1; but I will have extra time to explore on my own starting that Sunday March 1. So if you would like to join me, give me a holler. This will be my second trip to Big Bend. I will be on a dual-purpose 350 cc motorcycle, so I can't do any ride-share/shuttle with it unless it's a short trip without packs. I will not have hiked any of the High Chisos trails on the Sierra trip, so that is the most likely hike I'll do as my add-on, but if one of you wants to suggest something else, or a sample of shorter hikes, I'm flexible and fairly experienced to try anything for up to 4 nights. If you have never been to Big Bend, I've got, and have read already, lots of trail info.

I love to learn all about the flora and history, etc., and am capable of helping you out with everything except carrying more than 10 # of your stuff. You of course could help me out by offering to use a larger vehicle to store or cache extra gear, water etc., if we wanted to hike farther and lighter.
