DescriptionTRIP CLOSED. WE'VE REACHED OUR LIMIT OF 10 PEOPLE. Similar to Lorax' Spring Ramble in the Kettles. Meet-up will be at Shelter #5 Friday night. For those arriving earlier, I will be starting about 12:00 Noon on Friday (10/23) from the Highway P Trailhead (north end of the state forest) and hiking the 7.73 miles to stay at Shelter #5. Saturday's plan is to hike 10.2 miles and stay at Shelter #3. Sunday's hike is 5.86 miles to Shelter #2. For those leaving on Sunday, there's road access to the Hwy S parking lot 0.17 miles south of Shelter #2 but you will have to make your own shuttle arrangements with other Friday night-Sunday attendees. Monday will be a 7.78 mile hike to the south trailhead at Hwy H. I will have a vehicle at Hwy H if anyone needs a shuttle back to their cars Monday afternoon. Water is available 0.5 miles north of Shelter #5 (or bring water with you Friday) and 2.5 miles north of Shelter #3 in the Butler Lake parking lot. The water source for Shelter #2 is a few miles north of Shelter #2 at the entrance to the Mauthe Lake Recreation area near the trail. I am not familiar with this water source so am going to cache water near Shelter #2. If you'll be staying Sunday night and want water cached here, let me know and I'll cache extra.
