DescriptionTrailhead at Whitehouse in Wells, NY. Hike into the Gorge on the West Branch of the Sacandaga River (fishermans trails and Bushwhack)which features 2 eddys and 5 waterfalls. Camp overnight and hike back out on Sunday. This is he best kept secret in the Southern Adirondacks, to see more, check out my Blog I also have space for camping in my yard if people want to get up a day early to be rested before the trek. Great Hike. Moderate in difficulty, a little rock climbing and some climbing. Rock hopping if the river is not too wild and also a ford through a stream. Not for beginners. This trip is listed in both the ADK Southern Adirondacks Guide and Discovering the Southern Adirondacks by Barbara McMartin.
