DescriptionI would like to say that this trip is not so much planned as a TT trip but a trip mostly involving several of our local friends that We've (PackRat & I) know for a long time and sometimes backpack with. There could be as many as 12 of us going out there. We are letting the TT family know that we are going to be out there if anyone is interested. We'll be Hiking in the Harney Peak Area. There's a possibility we may do some Trout fishing if anyone wants to bring a pole. We'll be seeing Mt Rushmore also. The route for the whole trip is not determined but we will be on the trail for about 4 days. Afterwards we may go to the Badlands NP and either stay at Sage Creek Campground and do some dayhiking or we may do a backpacking trip. We want to keep plans flexable to see what the group will want to do. For those hooking up with us, plan on camping on Harney Peak June 15. You'll have to find your on way there cause we won't know our exact starting time. We plan to park at Sylvan Lake in Custer SP. The second day we plan on heading back down and catching the Lost Cabin Trail and heading toward Willow Creek. Camping spot is unknown. From this point we plan to make it up as we go along. Some people may stay and fish at Horsethief Lake and some will head up to Mt Rushmore. We will hook back up along the Grizzly Bear Creek Trail. Bring a pole if you want. Lotsa trout in the lakes and streams.
