DescriptionRicketts Glen State Park is the place for three days of winter back country fun! The possibilities are endless, ice skating, ice fishing, hiking galore, ice climbing and water fall seeking and that is just part of it. We're talking seriously scenic area! The Gorges that these falls drop through are amazing. Some of the falls are stacked right on top of eachother and some old growth forests as well. I hope we have some snow! I would like to do a bushwack in the state game lands adjacent to the park and find Lewis, Twin and Sullivan Falls. I think there are several other falls back there as well. The falls with in the park are spectacular as well. Crampons are necessary according to the park webpage and the trail through the Glens gets very icy and dangerous in the winter. The falls should be completely frozen and will provide some amazing scenery. There is car camping and cabins available. I have already rented a site.
