trips - North Fork Mountain TrailTrip Info
Description![]() Outside Magazine called it the best trail in West Virginia. This is not a difficult trail and is rated moderate. It is 24 miles in length but we will only be hiking the northern section of it (12 miles). We will likely car camp friday night. The trail follows the ridge line of North Fork Mountain and has amazing overlooks that look down upon Seneca Rocks and west to the Allegheny Front and Plateau. There are rock out-croppings every fuw yards. The west side of the ridge drops off cliffs that in some places are over 100 feet high. The scenery along the trail is spectacular. Water, however is scarse. We will need to pack alot. I'm excited to do this trip, as the scenery is beautiful along it. This is definitely one to bring your camera along for. I'll post more info with time.
